Kimberley dominates Northern 9-ball Open
The BWPPA raised the curtain on the 2011 season on the 5th/6th February 2011 with the Dynamic Billiards Northern 9-ball Open held at Rileys Barnsley. The tour was hit by illness for it’s season opener with many of the regular tour players unable to compete due to illness. Despite this the tour got off to a great start with some great pool on show as usual at these events. “the Sandman” Roy Kimberley held onto his number 1 spot with victory in the Main Event. Roy had a tough opening encounter with Welshman Phil Hendrickson which went to a deciding rack, Kimberley’s experience told in the end as he won 7-6, he then had a more comfortably dispatched of Shaun Madin 7-2. “the Sandman” seemed to be on a roll then as he beat Tony Southern 7-5 in the semi-final

Appear in the Pro Tour Career Mode in Virtual Pool 4
Ahhh, Virtual Pool 3... Do you remember it? It was the best pool simulation EVER!!!
Well, now they are making VP4 - and they are inviting pool pro's to be featured in the game's "Pro Tour Career Mode" and the game will include your player profile and even a link to your web site, just like Max Eberle's below...
I think it would be pretty impressive to show potential sponsors a screen-shot of your profile featured in the world's best pool computer game.
Qualification Rounds Over in Fujairah.
Some big names have left for the exits in Fujairah. World 9-Ball Champion Francisco Bustamante was ahead of Daryl Peach 6-4 in the race to seven games and lost that match 7-6. He then had to defeat David Alcaide of Spain to stay alive but failed as Alcaide prevailed 7-3 to send Francisco home. Another much-feared Filipino, Jeff De Luna, has also seen his efforts come to naught after he was surprised by Khaled Al Mutairi of Kuwait 7-5 and then lost 7-6 to Takhti Zarekani of Iran 7-6. Anyway, all of them need the replica watches which are used to camping.

In a match that could not have been packed with more drama, Ralf Souquet claims the title of the Dynamic France Open Champion 2011 with a 9-8 victory over Nick van den Berg.
Both players are well known for their top class pool. It is not for nothing that both of them have been teammates at the Mosconi Cup Team Europe, the team that won the title two months ago.
Nick had the better start and managed to get a two game lead over the German. Whatever Ralf tried, Nick had the answer for it. Van den Berg was ahead 4-2 when Souquet accomplished to equal the score to 4-4. Both players played with fewer mistakes than they did in their respective semifinal matches. After that, Nick again sneaked away with two racks leading 6-4. Trying to repeat the story, Ralf got back to 5-6 but then Nick played an epic push out that Ralf handed back. Everybody was wondering what Nick had in mind since there was a long straight shot at the 2-ball with no angle and no chance at all for position for the 3-ball. But the Dutchman proves everybody wrong. He pocketed the 2-ball and played a great safe on the 3-ball, forcing Ralf Souquet to commit a foul. Then Nick ran out, claiming a 7-5 lead over Souquet.
As the match went on, Nick won another rack to get on the hill 8-5 with Souquet to break next. Suddenly the situation changed dramatically and things went against Nick and for Ralf. Souquet broke and had a ball pocketed with a nice layout for him. 8-6.
Then Nick scratched on his next break, leaving Ralf anther nice layout with ball in hand. 8-7. Finally, another break and run from Ralf to tie the score at 8-8! What a drama unfolded.

Hendry Hopes To Guarantee Top 16 Place

Hendry Hopes To Guarantee Top 16 Place
Snooker legend Stephen Hendry can secure his place in the top 16 - and his presence at the Crucible - with a good run in next week's Wyldecrest Park Homes Welsh Open.
The seven-times World Champion slipped to a precarious 14th place before last week's German Masters, though a 5-2 victory over Judd Trump in the first round in Berlin moved him up to 13th.
The Wyldecrest Park Homes Welsh Open runs from February 14 to 20 at the Newport Centre and it's the last event before the seeding list is updated for the China Open and Betfred.com World Snooker Championship, so players outside the top 16 will have to qualify for those two events.
"I'm trying not to look at the facts and figures," said 42-year-old Hendry, whose last Crucible crown came in 1999. "People who know more about it than I do say it would take a miracle for me to drop out of the top 16. My focus is just on winning matches in Newport, and if I do that I won't have to worry about the rankings.
