Tamara Rademakers has been officially announced as the first female Professional American Pool player to be included on the Cue King Promotions roster for 2011. Miss Rademakers from Geleen, Netherlands is ranked No. 15 on the WPBA circuit and is highly regarded as one of the brightest talents on the Women’s tour.
“We are scouting for youthful and exciting Pool Billiard prospects of the future and Tamara certainly fits into this category. It’s been a long and industrious road to find the right female professional player who can carry the Cue King Promotions name to an ever growing and popular division of American Pool. Tamara is beyond doubt the right woman to be an ambassador of Cue King Promotions.” explains newly appointed Chief Executive, Trevor Haythorne.
The deal was completed by CKP’s Head of Marketing Rachel Adams who acts solely as a consultant to the UK based sports agency. Rademakers signs a two year deal with an option for extension for both parties.

Encouragingly, despite the "recession" entry numbers were slightly up on last year's figures, as the first of the three GB9 Ball Tour qualifying events got underway in Solihull this weekend, as 28 hopefuls battled for the spots available.
The players and groups were as follows - Group 1: Nathan James, James Topliff, Dan Mccreadie, Darryn Walker. - Group 2: Simon Woods, Phillip Wildman, Sean Dracup, James Shade. - Group 3: Kevin Simpson, Tom Kennedy, David Keown, Michael Beckett, Mark Flavell. - Group 4: Kristian Phillips, Connar Baird, Andrew Carter, Neil Craycraft, Anthony Banham. - Group 5: Matthew Jarvis, Martyn Taylor, Craig Welsh, Christopher Hall, Shane Davies. Billiard cloth manufacturer Milliken has announced it is to continue its investment programme in 2011, when £500,000 is being spent to ensure it maintains its reputation for unrivalled quality.
Despite challenging market conditions, Milliken’s export drive has paid dividends in the past 12 months with increased demand for its pool and snooker range.
“We are investing at both sites in Gloucestershire to improve operating efficiency and maintain the high quality for which Milliken is known,” says marketing director Duncan Kettell (pictured).
New technology will give the company an added edge in its core activities, including weaving & dyeing, and a number of extra jobs have been created in recent months.

 | Higgins - I Struggle With Wembley Atmosphere |
The Ladbrokes Mobile Masters Wembley Arena Arena Square Engineers Way London United Kingdom HA9 0AA www.worldsnooker.com/masters www.wembleyarena.co.uk
9-16 January 2011
Higgins - I Struggle With Wembley Atmosphere
John Higgins hopes to continue his hot streak of form at next week's Ladbrokes Mobile Masters - but admits that he finds the atmopshere at the London event intimidating.
The Scot has won 18 of his last 19 matches on the World Snooker Tour and captured the trophy at the 12BET.com UK Championship in December by beating Mark Williams 10-9 in a classic final.
Higgins is now looking ahead to snooker's most prestigious invitation tournament, which runs from January 9 to 16 at Wembley Arena. He has a mixed record in the event, having won it in 1999 and 2006 but lost nine times in the first round, including three of the last four years.
"I've always been overawed by the atmosphere at Wembley," said Higgins. "It's such a big arena and if you are playing badly it can be exaggerated. Even the two times I have won it, I have not played to a great standard - except the 2006 final when I beat Ronnie O'Sullivan."

One of the most asked questions received by Pro9 throughout the year is, "How do I get on the GB 9 Ball Tour?" Here's the answer... Players may enter multiple qualifiers if they are not successful on their first attempt. The number of tour places available will not be known until nearer the time but we expect at least 8 spots to be available at each of the 3 qualifying events.
If successful in qualifying you will become a full member of GB9 for the 2011 season and membership fees will then be payable as detailed below.
GB9 Midlands Qualifier - Rileys Solihull - 9 January 2011 GB9 Northern Qualifier - Rileys Barnsley - 16 January 2011 GB9 Southern Qualifier - Rileys Shepherds Bush - 23 January 2011
Players must arrive by 10:30am. with registration and practice from 10:00am. Matches are expected to start at 11am. It is difficult to predict the time play will finish as this is dependent upon the number of players entering but typically the day finishes between 5pm and 7pm.
