The pool world is abuzz with the news that Jasmin Ouschan has now collected yet another Gold medal at the European Pool Championships in Croatia, this time for the 8-Ball Pool discipline, and incredibly, whilst it's an unbelievable achievement, no one is particularly surprised, such is her reputatation!
8 Ball is the most commonly played and well known discipline around the world and Russia's Konstantin Stepanov proudly hoisted the trophy and Gold medal in the Men's 8 Ball Division after overcoming the challenge mounted in the final by Sweden's Marcus Chamat who took the silver. Notably, two Spaniards filled the bronze medal positions showing a lot of potential as David Alcaide added a bronze to his medal haul to accompany his Straight Pool Gold.
In the Wheelchair Division, Belgium picked up a Gold medal after Kurt Declerk outshone Henrik Larrson from Sweden in the final, whilst "Golden Boy" of the Championships, Finland's Jouni Tahti had to settle for a Bronze in this discipline, alongside Britain's Karl Read.
About 250 participants from 36 countries spanning the breadth of Europe from Britain to Russia have descended on Zagreb in Croatia, vying for medals and glory at the 2010 European Pool Championships. The action continues for the next 7 days and a livestream of the best selected clashes can be viewed for free at Bwin.com.

 | World Pool Masters - World Finalist Kuo Through To Vegas Pool Fest |
PartyPoker.net World Pool Masters 2010 Riviera Hotel & Casino 2901 Las Vegas Blvd, South Las Vegas, Nevada 8910909 USA www.matchroompool.com www.partypoker.net
Wednesday-Sunday 12-16 May 2010
And Dominguez Joins his Son in Riv Line Up
KUO PO-CHENG, who came so close to lifting the World Pool Championship in 2005, only to lose out narrowly to Wu Chia-ching in the final, is set to make his PartyPoker.net World Pool Masters debut after winning through a tough qualifying heat at the International Pool Club in Taipei.
Kuo, who also grabbed a bronze medal at the 2006 WPC, took down countryman Chang Jung-lin by 9-6 in the final match. The six-time ESPN Asian Tour champion, Chang, had been out of competition for almost two years due to military service and almost went all the way on his comeback.
Kuo, 32, is getting married in April of this year and said his victory is the best gift he could give his bride. “I think now is different stage in my life and I will become a husband and have a family, and I know my wife always support me,” he said.
Joining him as the third Taiwanese player in the 64 player line-up at the Riviera Hotel from 12 – 16 May, will be Lo Li-wen who won one of the two events at Hiland Billiards in Yokohama, Japan.
Lo is now based in Japan and is a double winner already this year taking down the Kansai 9-ball Open and the Hokkaido Open. He beat Tomoo Takano 10-6 to seal his spot.

Germany's Ralf Souquet played flawless pool to overcome the Netherland's Niels Feijen. The Dutchman only made two small mistakes in the final, but in a race to seven against a player of Souquet's calibre that's all it takes, and the German took the gold medal with a 7-3 victory.
Austria's Jasmin Ouschan made it two from two as she took the podium for her second discipline victory at the European Pool Championships in Zagreb this week beating Germany's Ina Jentschura 6-3 in the final of the Women's 10 Ball event.
In the Wheelchair Division, Finland's Jouni Tahti continued the indestructible form displayed recently at the World Wheelchair 9 Ball Championships with a brace of dominating results in the final stages, beating Ireland's Fred Dinsmore 5-0 in the semi-finals, and yet another 5-0 victory in the final over Great Britain's Roy Kimberley.

Season 3. Event 1. 144 players. Roughly 432 pool cues. 1826 total racks. 16 custom built tables. £1200 first prize. 1 winner. Daryl ‘The Dazzler’ Peach won the numbers game on the evening of Sunday 14th March 2010 at the majestic Barceló Buxton Palace Hotel in Derbyshire, beating old foe-come-friend Mark Gray by eleven racks to eight in the final of the GB9 Midlands Classic. The victory moves Peach to within just three points of current number one Gray at the top of the official British ranking list.
It was the second consecutive Dazzler/Granite final as the pair met at last season’s final tour stop in the GB9 Northern Masters in Barnsley last November, Peach also taking that match in an 11-10 victory. The result in Buxton in fact gives Mark Gray three 2nd place finishes on the spin, pin pointing the reason as to why the Peterborough shooter is considered by peers and pundits alike to be the most consistent player in Britain today.

Spanish pool supremo David Alcaide was in unbeatable form as he racked up huge breaks to annihilate his opponents in the European Championships Straight Pool event. On his way to the final, the under-rated Alcaide eliminated Niels Feijen with a monstrous 121 break to close the match, and fellow Dutchman Nick van den Berg fell to Alcaide in the semifinals. The final score in the title match said it all, as the Spaniard trounced a demonstrably very capable Artem Koshovj from the Ukraine with a resounding 125-3 victory.
Meanwhile in the women's event, the Austrian duo of Gerda Hofstatter and Jasmin Oushcan shared the spoils of war as they faced each other in yet another final. Rostered as the number 1 and number 2 seeds of the event, it was Ouschan who shone as brightly as the gold medal for her 75-19 victory over her compatriot.

Despite only a modest presence in the Men's division, Great Britain are fielding quality over quantity with a small selection of the most elite players available, and we have a very dangerous contingent in the men's wheelchair events too!

Boyes Wins Through Tough Field... And Great Day for Ukrainian Pool
THERE WERE THREE more qualifying spots decided at weekend as the PartyPoker.net World Pool Masters – Race to Vegas, kicked into gear. Events in England, Belgium and Russia produced three quality players who will take their place in the 64 player line-up at the Riviera Hotel from 12 – 16 May.
On Monday 15th March at the Buxton Palace Hotel in the UK, England’s Karl Boyes won the qualifying event run by GB9 to secure a place in Las Vegas.
The 27 year-old was a bronze medallist at the 2007 World Pool Championship and was recently was part of the victorious Great Britain side at the World Team Championship. He will now join team mates Darren Appleton, Mark Gray, Imran Majid and Daryl Peach at the Riviera.
‘Roll on Vegas! I am very happy to be involved in another Matchroom event as I think they put on the best shows in the pool world. I have only ever played in one of their events before and placed third at the World Champs so hopefully I can go better in the Masters,’ said Boyes.
