Incredible 3 Golds for Ouschan!
The pool world is abuzz with the news that Jasmin Ouschan has now collected yet another Gold medal at the European Pool Championships in Croatia, this time for the 8-Ball Pool discipline, and incredibly, whilst it's an unbelievable achievement, no one is particularly surprised, such is her reputatation!
8 Ball is the most commonly played and well known discipline around the world and Russia's Konstantin Stepanov proudly hoisted the trophy and Gold medal in the Men's 8 Ball Division after overcoming the challenge mounted in the final by Sweden's Marcus Chamat who took the silver. Notably, two Spaniards filled the bronze medal positions showing a lot of potential as David Alcaide added a bronze to his medal haul to accompany his Straight Pool Gold.
In the Wheelchair Division, Belgium picked up a Gold medal after Kurt Declerk outshone Henrik Larrson from Sweden in the final, whilst "Golden Boy" of the Championships, Finland's Jouni Tahti had to settle for a Bronze in this discipline, alongside Britain's Karl Read.
About 250 participants from 36 countries spanning the breadth of Europe from Britain to Russia have descended on Zagreb in Croatia, vying for medals and glory at the 2010 European Pool Championships. The action continues for the next 7 days and a livestream of the best selected clashes can be viewed for free at Bwin.com.
