Drago bests Souquet in Slovenian 9 Ball final!
A very exotic location, but an increasingly familiar result as Tony "The Tornado" Drago continues his love affair with 9 ball pool and the victory podium, and it was no walk-over as the Maltese player had a top quality international field to overcome on the 11 Brunswick Metro "Pro" tables.
Europe's finest line-up of players toppled as the quickfire London resident felled Hungarian supremo Vilmos Foldes in the Last 16 stage, followed by Italian upstart Mauro Castriota in the Quarters. Local favourite Slovenian Matjaž Erčulj used the full extent of the home advantage, taking Drago closer than anyone else, but ultimately conceded with an 11-9 score. German superstar and former 9 ball World Champion Ralf Souquet couldn't match the man from Malta in the final, falling to an 11-5 loss.

More money is coming into the "Home of the Champions" tournament, and contrary to the rumours, Lionel is not having to sell his body. Well just yet, anyway!
It's a strong field, and the weak need not apply as the St. Johns Ambulance Brigade will not be present on the day to heal wounds. The organisers believe there are going to be a few due to the tough format and field. Only the BRAVE need apply.
For those who will not be able to play (due to the limited field) there are plans to have other tables open for games such as: a challenge table, a ten ball ring game table, a killer table, and they're also thinking of a Scotch Doubles table too.
Get in quick and contact the organisers of this LIMITED ENTRY tournament at Rileys Victoria, remember, there are only 32 spots available.

Sorry about the last minute announcement, but Rico Dik's new band "The Pressure Room" will be performing tonight in their most accessible venue yet... The Comedy is only 100 yards from Piccadilly Circus tube station, so if you've been wondering what all the commotion is about, pop along tonight for a rare treat and see Rico showing some serious talent as lead singer and front man.
The Pressure Room's gigs are always a friendly, cosy affair and I've always been very impressed with their live performance, and now is the chance for them to have the larger audience that they richly deserve.

Jeanette Lee Wins Empress Cup
Jeanette Lee went undefeated to become the 2nd Annual Empress Cup Champion. The Empress Cup drew record breaking TV ratings last year in Korea and even pushed #1 rated sport baseball back in its live broadcast. The Dragon Promotions produced event comprised of 6 of some of the world's most talented and beautiful ladies players in a round robin format. This year's players were Shanelle Loraine of Guam, Isabelle Krafczyk of Germany, Ga Young Kim of Korea, Yu Ram Cha of Korea, Miyuki Sakai of Japan, and Jeanette Lee of USA.
The event was sponsored by the city of Chun Cheon in conjunction with their annual sports festival which included competitions in skating, roller blading, bass fishing, and break dancing. The billiards event was the main attraction on center stage and was aired live for 4 hour broadcast on MBC ESPN, Korea's #1 network.

Mickey Flynns reduces entry fee for 10-Ball event
Mickey Flynns have confirmed that their 10-Ball event, scheduled in the calendar since November 2006, is to go ahead, and with an added bonus of a reduced entry fee. The usual £30 entry fee has been slashed by £10 so there's no excuse not to attend this event at the fabulous Cambridge club.
A limited field of 40 players will initially battle-it-out in group stages followed by a single knockout format... You simply can't get better value than that... And did I mentioned the gorgeous staff yet? Hurry, call Richard on 01223 309000 or leave a message to reserve your spot.
