This tournament has a great format which should please everyone:
Group stages down to the last 4 so great value for money and the best chance for anyone to progress.
Pro players will be seeded into the groups so that there is only 1 pro per group in the first round and no more than 2 per group in the last 16. This means that there won’t be any “groups of death” and that a pro can’t meet another pro until later in the day.
We will be using the club to its full potential, using 16 tables for the first 2 rounds and all tables will be tapped.
Prize money down to the last 8 and trophies for winner and runner-up.
Anybody who has been to Rileys Solihull will know it is one of the very best clubs in the country with 22 well looked after tables, a large lounge area and friendly staff.

Belfast Venue Stages All Ireland 9-Ball and U21 9Ball Pool Championships
This weekend (Saturday 28th July 2007) will see Frames Snooker and Pool Club in Donegal Street, Belfast City Centre, the venue once again for the 5th annual staging of the 2007 Cupid Cars All Ireland Open 9Ball Championship and Avalon Print All Ireland Under-21 9Ball Pool Championships. New Format For 2007 World Pool Championship
MATCHROOM Sport can announce they will be changing the format for the opening round of the 2007 Philippines World Pool Championship.
Double elimination play will be introduced for the first time in the nine years that the UK-based sports promotion company has been promoting the event.
Once again there will be 128 players competing in the tournament, which will be held in Manila from November 3 to November 11, and everyone will be aiming to follow in the footsteps of 2006 winner Ronnie Alcano.
However, the old round-robin format has been replaced by a first round consisting of 16 groups of eight players, which will split the field from 128 to 64 competitors before the single-elimination knock-out phase.
The eight players in each group will play a total of 10 matches between them. Two successive wins will see them into the last 64 while two straight defeats will see them eliminated from the tournament.
