Rico Dik's new band "The Pressure Room" will be performing at The Bull and Gate in Kentish Town, and I'll definitely be going again after seeing them play at Leonard's last month I was very impressed with their live performance.
There will be 4 or 5 bands playing on Tuesday night, but there's no guaranteed audience waiting to support these acts, each band does their damnedest to attract 25 or more guests and that way each of the bands gets exposure to a bigger audience, so it's down to us to show some support here... I guarantee you won't be disappointed - The Pressure Room REALLY ROCK!!!

2007 World 14.1 Straight Pool Championship Groups
Players were seeded according to last year's placement as well as country ranking and federation rankings. Players from the same country were also divided into separate groups.
This first round robin stage will be races to 100 points and take place July 9-11. The top 4 finishers in each group will advance to the 32 man board.

Europe's top players were invited to play, and they accepted the challenge!
Players from as far afield as England, Malta, Serbia and Montenegro, and Sweden have accepted the challenge to play Greece's finest pool players as Imran Majid, Tony Drago, Sandor Tot and Marcus Chamat have committed to attend the Pi.Gal Billiard Academy's 9-Ball Open tournament in July where they will battle with Greece's finest players including the latest EuroTour sensation John Vassalos.
Entries are still being taken and a €10,500 prize fund awaits those bold enough to accept this challenge - and a terrific holiday too, from the friendly people, the beautiful scenery, wonderful beaches and not least, guaranteed sunshine!

Jasmin Ouschan Aims at the Men during the Predator World 14.1 Championship
East Brunswick, NJ- Three women will be taking aim at the Predator World 14.1 Title on July 9-14,2007 at the Hilton East Brunswick NJ. One of these women is Austria's Jasmin Ouschan, currently ranked #1 women's player in Europe and quarter finalist at last year's World Straight Pool Championship. Last year Ouschan defied the odds and won a do-or-die last match in the round robin stage to qualify through the top half of the event. Her victim that match was USA's John Schmidt, highly regarded as the best straight pool player in America. She went on to finish 5th at the event.
Some say it might never happen again, while others were made believers. Schmidt had this to say: "Jasmin was no fluke last year. 14.1 knowledge is essential to being a good 9-ball player, and its obvious to me she understands the benefits of that. Her and Jeanette (Lee) are probably the two top women's straight pool players, but i probably have to credit Jasmin as being the best (woman)."

Quality over quantity at Coventry 9 Ball event.
A whole bunch of top name players attended the Coventry event, despite the last minute nature of the announcement, and there wasn't really an easy group or indeed an easy match to be had on Sunday.
Damian Massey was the top dog on the day, slicing through the group stage like a scythe through wet grass, then tough wins in the single elimination rounds against Jonathan Mathers and Chris Buckmaster, and then defeating Craig Osborne in the final.
