"Tornado" blows away the competition at Southfields
What a brilliant tournament, and what a fantastic winner!
It was great of Malta's Tony "The Tornado" Drago to support this event with his presence, and from the way he was playing it was easy to predict him storming his way to the final, entertaining players and fans with an awesome exhibition of his high speed potting style.
There were other thrilling matches too, with the early round draw between Pro 9 Ball players Rico Diks and Imran Majid drawing a nice sized crowd, and causing a bit of a sensation too, after Imran got a golden break to take the game to a hill-hill match, only for Rico to get a golden break to win the match 5-4.

Ouschan loses to Fisher in Semi-Final!
In the semi-final at the Enjoypool.com Open in Las Vegas the 21-year old defending champion Jasmin Ouschan from Austria lost her match against the top seeded player of the event Allison Fisher with a tight 5:7 score.
In the sold out ESPN arena most of the spectators expected a thrilling match between last year's two finalists.

Ouschan struggles through to semi-final!
Another great day of battle for Jasmin Ouschan at the Enjoypool.com 9-Ball Championships in Las Vegas.
Despite one loss the 21-year old Austrian and defending champion was able to proceed to the semi-finals.
In her first match Ouschan lost against the No.2 seeded player Karren Corr from Ireland with a clear 9:4 score. "In this match I was just unable to find a good playing rhythm and Corr made a pretty good job in keeping me away from the table“, was Ouschan's analysis.
Sent into the one-loss bracket it came to an "Austrian Shoot out" when Ouschan faced Gerda Hofstätter, who has been living in teh US for the last 15 years. In a match that mirrored the last WPBA-Tournament in San Diego, Ouschan made a clear statement about who is the new leading player in Austria, and crushed Gerda with a 9:2 score.

Challenge the Champions! Side Event - World Pool Masters 2007
It's become a bit of a tradition for the Royal Dutch Pool Billiards Association (KNBB) to run a warm-up event the night before the start of the World Pool Masters.
This gives an opportunity to a limited number of players to enter a tournament with the chance of playing against the international stars. Entries are first offered to Dutch clubs to run qualifiers, then to KNBB players, and then to international players.
The prize fund is modest, but the bragging rights are huge, and Club 8 always makes for a great night out. Not so much of a serious tournament - just an absolutely fantastic long weekend.

Ouschan "destroys" World Champion!
The defending champion Jasmin Ouschan from Austria remains undefeated in the top seeded women player's tournament of the year.
In an exciting and highly anticipated match the 21-year old Ouschan demolished the 2007 World Champion Xiaoting Pan from China with a 9:3 score.
"I think we have been able to prepare perfect for this match and I was able to show right up at the beginning my abilities. Xiaoting Pan is known for her emotionless way to run the balls so I tried to keep her out of her comfort zone and force her to errors. Out of my point of view I played a flawless match and took all the chances I got" was Ouschan's analysis right after the match.

On the journey to defend her vistory last year at the prestigious Enjoypool.com Open in Las Vegas the 21-year old Austrian remains undefeated.
In a match of a very high level she beat the Taiwanese Shin-Mei Liu after a tough battle with a 9:6 score.
"Well, good match again even though my break did not work in the first three games which gave Liu always the chance to put pressure on me. In the last part of the match I was able to take control over the table and to decide the battle for me", was Ouschan's analysis right after the match.

Pro Women Take a Shot at Men During Predator World 10-Ball Championships
Six women will join the predominantly male 96 player invited field at the Predator World 10-Ball Championship May 23-27,2007 in Jacksonville ,FL. Included in this female team are WPBA pros Gerda Hofstatter of Austria, Kim Shaw of England, and Anna Kostanian of New Mexico. Three junior talents will also join the Big Boys with Yu Ram Cha and Bo Ram Cha of Korea and Amalia Matas of Spain.
It is rare for women to be included in major men's pro events and especially world title events and here's what some of the ladies had to say of the opportunity.
"I am excited to be able to play in the men's World Championship. It will be a great challenge and I will practice and try very hard." said 19 year old Yu Ram Cha of Korea, currently #1 Woman's Player in Korea.
