Ginger Magician claims his & the tours first 2007 premier event
Paddy McLaughlin, otherwise known as "The Ginger Magician" emerged from the shadows of defeat on two occasions to be crowned the 2007 Ulster Open 9Ball Pool Champion, defeating Richard Berrie 13-12 coming from 12-10 down in a classic final.
The first premier event of the new 2007 season once again saw players travel from all over Ireland to Frames snooker & pool club in Belfast when the tournament was played in a straight knockout format with a race to 10 winner breaking which was very much enjoyed by all competitors who took part. The tournament also saw for the first time in the four year history £500 added to the event giving all players involved an opportunity to win a slice of more prize-money which was on offer.

The talents of a young man from Poole have been recognised by pool and snooker retailer, Billiards Boutique who have offered a sponsorship deal to aid his chances in the British Professional Pool Players Association 2007 Junior and Men’s 9-ball Tours.
Sixteen year old Louis Clarke has been playing snooker and pool since the age of eight and already demonstrates the talent and skills needed to rival the champions.

UK Qualifier winner Stuart Colclough
Stuart Colclough became the latest name to be added to the inaugural Grand Masters event by winning the UK qualifier last Sunday.
He came through a very tough 10 man field who were split into 2 groups where the top two would qualify for the semis. Both groups were very tight and went down to the last set of matches to determine who would advance to the next round.

When Daryl Peach announced that this was a beautiful club, he wasn't just doing the usual PR job that you expect... This club is a real beauty, everybody is saying it. Split on four tiered levels, in a similar fashion to the set for the World Pool Championships in Cardiff, this has to be the best conversion ever from what was obviously previously a cinema.
Not only that, but the tables are absolutely gorgeous too - recovered especially for the event in a Royal Blue colour! Rileys really have done a great job here and got a top result - even the staff are superb too, bending over backwards to the player's every whim. Well done Rileys, and the EPT!
