Launch of new Mezz SKR-E1a Series snooker cues in Europe
Today we are launching the new SKR-E1a Mezz Cues snooker cues in Europe. We are proud to be the pioneers to release our snooker cues with the V95 6 pie maple shaft. After more than 6 years of developing our snooker cue, a lot of studying and tests maple vs ash shaft, we have in fact on the contrary to common beliefs, discovered that the maple shaft is much more consistent in it's structure and performance than an ash shaft. The data is collected through different tests including machinery, people playing with our cue, chemical tests and etc... The uniqueness of our shaft does not stop with only maple vs ash, there is another twist to it. Namely our shaft is equipped with the United joint and the Shaft Weight System (SWS) which gives you different balance points in case needed. 2016 French Open gets underway in Paris
The main event starts today with some heavyweight players joining the fray, in addition to those who have advanced from the qualification groups.
Reigning French Open champion Imran Majid (GBR) is looking to defend the title he captured in 2015, while the talented Dutch duo of Marc Bijsterbosch and Huidji See are also in town. Both went deep in this event last time round but came up short in the final stages. Can either of them go further this time around to dethrone the Maharaja?
The French pool community will be hoping it is third time lucky for one of their players. Having seen the trophy go to British players in the first two editions, it would be a big celebration for a Frenchman to take down this event.

2016 GB9 Southern Masters, the Rasson Billiards Pro Cup & Challenge Cup
The latter half of the 2016 GB 9 Ball Tour returns to Telford this weekend as Britain’s finest battle it out for this year’s Southern Masters title.
The season so far has shown a resurgence in form of one of Britain’s finest cueists, Mark Gray. Two tournament wins at the Midlands Classic and Paul Medati Trophy, paired with his 3rd place finish at the UK Open, see him sitting very pretty indeed at the top of the main rankings.

Mika Immonen is the 76th World 14.1 Champion
It seems only fitting that two adopted New Yorkers play for the World 14.1 Title on the 15th Anniversary of 9/11. Mika Immonen is from Finland, but he has resided in NYC for over 15 years. And Earl Strickland, who hails from North Carolina, has lived in New York for about five years now.
In the end, it was Immonen who was able to sigh a deep breath of relief.
"Between the nerves and 6 hours of play, I was shaking. I have to admit I was more of afraid of losing in the finals again then thinking of the joys of winning", admitted Immonen. "But I now have this huge weight off my shoulders finally. I can't believe it. I'm the World 14.1 Champion and it is just such a huge honor."

MEZZ CUES BALTIC POOL LEAGUE FIRST CENTURY
his week Mezz Cues Baltic Pool League circuit went back to the roots with a great recognition. It was the first time that the event had more than 100 entries and that in the pool hall with the very suitable name for this occasion and where the first ever Baltic Pool League (BPL) stage was held. The venue was a Lithuanian pool dome CLUB ENTRY in the city of Kaunas. The winners of this historical stage were in mens division Andreas Madsen from Denmark and women and oldboys division Genadijs Kaminskis from Latvia.
NO REAL THREAT FOR MADSEN
Throughout the whole event no one really threatened Madsen. It was Saulius Vaitukaitis that came the closest in the quarter final as he got six racks out of Madsen. In the semi final Madsen was clearly over Maris Vartiks (LAT) with a score 8:3 and in the final he repeated the score and won Mindaugas Śalkauskas (LIT). The young talent Pijus Labutis settled for a bronze medal this time as he lost the semi final to Śalkauskas 8:5. With this victory Madsen became the first Dane to participate and win the BPL.
After the third stage the overall leader of mens ranking list is Dmitry Chuprov (BLR).

2016 Mosconi Cup XXIII - Updated Mosconi Cup rankings
With five events recently completed on the Team USA Mosconi Cup ranking roster, the updated standings are attached.
There seven events to go, culminating in the US Open, then the Kuwait Open – both Level One tournaments with maximum points available.
The top three players at the conclusion of the series will gain automatic spots on the team while the other two players will be wild cards chosen by Team USA captain, Mark Wilson.

Lee takes the British 10-Ball title and the top spot
The BWPPA held its 3rd event of the 2016 season on the 30th/31st July with the Talisman British 10-ball Championships held at the BWPPA/BWCSA Wheelchair Cue Sport Academy at Stoke Mandeville.
In conditions hotter than normal, the dress code had to be relaxed for the comfort of the players. Despite the heat, there was some excellent pool on show as usual.
Fred Dinsmore was keen to extend his lead at the top of the rankings, but he knew that any slip-up and Daniel Lee would be closing in on him in his bid to be no.1 in the rankings at the end of the season, and take with it the beautiful cue donated by tour sponsors Predator Cues.
As the final 10-ball of the weekend was potted it was Lee who took home the spoils with victory over Dinsmore.
