You've got to love those mad Dutchies!!!
(Read the following in a stereotypical Dutch accent, reminiscent of those Grolsch adverts and you'll appreciate the level of fun on offer in Amsterdam!)
Schtop!!!! Those bonkers blokes at Club 8 are at it again, one of the most fun tournaments of the year has just been announced, along with the prize fund for this year's event. The Amsterdam (D)Open results are always clouded in mystery as the slightly dubious "unique selling point" of the tournament seems to be who can get most intoxicated on the positively encouraged herbal highs available at this event, whilst still being capable of winning the tournament. Apparently the smoking ban has not interfered with the running of this event, and yet again, the Club 8 guys are proud to announce that this event is NOT sanctioned by any of pool's official governing bodies.
Perfectly timed to follow on directly after the EuroTour Dutch Open in Weert so you can simply add an extra day to your visit and treat yourself to some great 8-Ball, some fantastic herb, and a really brilliant welcome from the fabulous Club 8 crew... So make a date to visit Amsterdam for this amazingly trippy event man!!!

Niels was trailing quite a bit from the start, but his resilience brought him back to 6-6. It was a long spectacular match, with both players displaying incredible showmanship: safety play, kick shots, run outs, the whole lot. At the end, Roschkowsky showed more composure and was able to dictate the match. € 2.500 to the champion, € 1.500 to the runner up.

A young man from Co. Waterford called Jason Power produced a dazzling display at the weekend (Saturday 25th July) to write himself into the history books on Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour by becoming the youngest player in the seven year history of the All Ireland Open 9Ball Championships to be crowned champion at the age of 19 years-old.
Not only does Jason make history by coming the youngest player to be crowned All Ireland Open 9Ball Champion but the Co. Waterford cueist will also be inducted into Ireland’s Hall Of Fame on Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour going alongside some fantastic champions on the roll of honours list that have secured the All Ireland title down through the years.

Qualifiers will be held for the Predator 69th World Straight Pool Championship for any player wishing to participate in the biggest and most prestigious straight pool title in the world. Ozone Billiards presents the greatest 14.1 players on Earth at Comet Billiards in Parsippany, New Jersey on August 24-29, 2009. In this fourth installment from Dragon Promotions, the greatest straight pool players from around the world will arrive on USA's shores again to New Jersey, and attend this prestigious event to play for the coveted title of World Straight Pool Champion.
Two winners will be determined at each qualifier which will give them a free entry into the main event. Those players will have earned the right to play against such straight pool giants as Niels Feijen NED, Oliver Ortmann GER, John Schmidt USA, Jasmin Ouschan AUT, Danny Harriman USA, Allen Hopkins USA, Thorsten Hohmann GER and many more. Clinical Souquet dashes Yang's hopes of hometown gold
The stage was set for a dream ending to the men's 9-ball tournament at the World Games, with Kaohsiung native Yang Ching-shun playing for a gold medal in his home town.
The 31-year-old Yang has a long list of 9-ball titles to his name during an illustrious career, winning gold in the 2001 World Games and the 1998 and 2002 Asian Games, but he was desperately hoping to clinch a major international title at home and seemed poised to fulfill his dream Sunday.

An Appleton featured in each of the three division finals at Rileys American Pool Club in Shepherd's Bush, London this weekend, as 10-Ball World Champion Darren won the main event, and also managed a runner up spot in The Pro Cup event, whilst his lesser-known cousin Andy Appleton scored his first final in the Challenge Division at the GB9 London Classic this weekend.
GB9 is Britain’s official professional 9 ball pool tour. The tour has quickly cemented itself as the toughest and most respected national pool tour in Europe with a line up of players other nations can only dream of, such as the 2007 World Pool Champion - Daryl Peach; European Number 1 - Mark Gray, 2008 World 10 Ball Champion - Darren Appleton, London's finest - Imran Majid and Raj Hundal, snooker legend Tony Drago, and a special guest appearance at this event by former European Mosconi Cup winning team player Lee Tucker.
