Dates announced for GBE 2010 exhibition
Last year's event was very successful with 5000 square meters of exhibition space covering 500 booths, with no less than 65 international and domestic brands displaying their products. Accordingly over 10,000 visitors both domestic and international attended the 2009 event and many exhibitors will be enlarging their booth areas in 2010.

Surprise as hot favourites Drago and Melling out prematurely at Bournemouth
Players were so keen to practice that they arrived early for this event, but they had to wait patiently outside for the doors to open, as the lovely Rileys Bournemouth club was prepared for he onslaught, but the short wait was very worthwhile as free bacon rolls and coffee were served to the early birds!
The Group Stages got underway and it wasn't be long before we knew who had made the cut for the single elimination round, with a shot at the very healthy prize fund on offer, generated by the larger than average entry fee of £45.
As play progressed there were some surprisingly early exits from the big guns, as first, Tony Drago was ousted in the Last 16 by an ever improving Steve Folan, followed by a very capable Lloyd Matining eliminating Chris Melling in the Quarter-Finals - blowing the event wide open!
When all the dust had settled it was Luke Rollison who took the £700 top prize, after many people had admired his talent earlier in the tournament, and ultimately, he proved too tough a match for Jason Howard despite a good come-back in the final.

European Teams prepare for battle in Poland
17 teams spanning the breadth of Europe from Britain to Russia have descended on Kielce in Poland for the European Nations Cup, a tournament that pits men's and women's teams against each other in a variety of pool disciplines including 8-ball, 9-ball, and 14.1 straight pool.
Great Britain's men's team, which includes two reigning World Champions, (Daryl Peach for 9-ball, and Darren Appleton for 10-ball) are heavy favourites for a "clean sweep" of the three titles as the other two European powerhouse nations of Germany and the Netherlands have failed to field their tried and tested big hitters. The biggest threats to British dominance appear to be a solid looking Russia, and watch out for a good showing from the home nation too, as Poland's stature continues to grow in European pool.

Semi-Finals today in China
Action from the Single Elimination stages of the men's and women's events at the 2009 China Open continue apace in Shanghai. Remaining matches include the semi-finals onwards, and will played to conclusion today.
The field of players has been whittled down to four in the men's event and it looks like an East vs. West affair, as two Europeans are still in contention. Niels Feijen from the Netherlands and Germany's Thorsten Hohmann have all of Europe's hopes hanging on their semi-final matches today. Good luck from all of us at Pro9 gentlemen, as we will be supporting whilst following the live scoring and video.

2009 US OPEN 9-BALL CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER
The Scottish qualifier US Open 9-Ball Championships will be taking place at Riley’s Stirling on Sunday 5 July 2009. The winner-take-all prize is paid entry into the 2009 US Open 9-Ball Championships, being held in Chesapeake, Virginia, as well as, dependent on the number of entries, money towards flights and accommodation.
The event is limited to 64 players and entry is £25. Entries must be made in advance and no entries can be taken on the day. The matches will be races to 9 racks with alternate breaks.

Qualifiers completed and tournament now underway
Play has started in the double elimination stages of the men's and women's events at the 2009 China Open, an official part of the WPA's World Pool Tour taking place in Shanghai this week.
Shanghai is 7 hours ahead of London, so all the action will be happening early morning to mid-afternoon for European pool fans - but there are LIVE results pages listed above, and even a link to televised matches - enjoy!

Matchroom Sport can announce the seven players set to take part in this year’s PartyPoker.com Premier League which commences at Penrith Leisure Centre on Thursday 3rd of September and concludes with the play-offs at Potters Leisure Resort, Hopton-on-Sea on the weekend of the 28th and 29th November.
Leading the way is defending champion and World No.1 Ronnie O’Sullivan who will be attempting to lift this title for an astonishing sixth consecutive season and ninth time overall.
The Essex-based ‘Rocket’ has made this Sky Sports-televised event his own in recent times, beating Mark Selby 7-2 in last year’s final, John Higgins 7-4 in 2007 and Jimmy White 7-0 in ’06.
World Champion Higgins will be returning to Premier League action in an attempt to halt O’Sullivan’s dominance and he will be joined by UK Champion and World Championship runner-up Shaun Murphy.
