The Championship runs from 4th - 12th November and all the game’s biggest names will be taking part including defending champion Wu Chia-ching, 2001 winner Mika ‘Iceman’ Immonen of Finland, 2002 champion Earl St rick land and 1999 champ Efren Reyes of the Philippines,.
A strong local contingent of 21 players, including Francisco Bustamante, Marlon Manalo and Dennis Orcollo, as well as a host of dangerous ‘unknowns’, will be looking to carry the Filipino flag into the final stages.
The Philippines World Pool Championship is live on ESPN Star Sports throughout Asia as well as Sky Sports in the UK and DSF in Germany and that adds up to over 60 hours of coverage over the nine days.
The event’s official website – www.worldpoolchampionship.com – will carry live scoring throughout as well as reports results and up-dates.
Matchroom Sport as well as AP will carry a full photographic service throughout the event.
The opening four days sees 32 groups of 4 players in race-to-eight round robin action before the last 64 do-or-die single elimination knock-out rounds commence on Wednesday 8 November.
Play culminates on the evening of Sunday 12th, as the two finalists contest the race-to-17 final for the games ultimate accolade.
