When I used to work in the "Corporate Industry" as it was called then, designing graphics for business conferences and product launches at exhibitions, I would regularly receive thank you letters from the producers of the show, and I kept a file of them, and whenever I was feeling down, or tired after working into the small hours yet again on a particularly demanding job, I would get them out and read them to perk me up a bit. (We would also receive a bottle of champagne after each job too, almost always in fact, until we probably started taking it for granted - but that was nice for the decade or so that it lasted!) Anyway, sometimes I get thank you letters from customers from The Pro Shop, and it seems to be a waste to not mention them, so, in a shameless act of self promotion, I have decided to publish them, anonymously, here for posterity - because I think it's a rare thing nowadays for people to go to all the trouble of writing a thank you note. Here's a nice one from today...
Hi Dave,
Just a quick one to say many thanks for your help in sourcing the Meucci for me, it arrived on time as expected. I played with it for the first time earlier this evening for 3 hours straight and it is wonderful.
A nice solid hit with the least amount of deflection I've ever experienced in an American pool cue. Takes a bit of time getting used to it initially compared with previous cues I've played with, but it was oh so worth it!
