Hello - Hope someone can help. Been scouring the net for ideas but nothing useful found so far. I appreciate this may seem strange, but I am trying to arrange a pool competition on a SINGLE UK pool table with standard 8-ball setup (15 + cue ball), but it is for between 15-30 people (averagely skilled), and need the whole thing to finish within about 3 hours (!) Does anyone know a way of playing and scoring so that we can have as many people playing at the same time as possible, and scoring points to achieve a single winner (rather than team-based)? I know it's a big ask, and I would also hope to find some scoring software to assist. (Will write some myself if I have to in VB) Any guidance would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

I'm not sure that a game currently exists to meet such criteria. Maybe you could play a straight-pool ring game but that could end up with spells of 15+ minutes between visits for each player. Or 'killer' but you devise your own scoring system and only eliminate in the last hour maybe. [ This message was edited by: billiardbloke on 2024-02-20 12:08 ]

Reply from... Ben Taylor-Fuente - thanks Ben!
30 people - 3 hours max - 1 table
= 6 mins table time each on average.
Would suggest something simple like speed pool, see how many balls you can pot in 5 mins, - set them up when all 15 potted and go again.
5 min playtime gives 1 min between players to setup again.
If it’s 16 players or fewer you can probably do straight KO 1 frame.
