Just checking to see if everyone has been paid for the World 8 Ball Championships in Fujairah? What's the deal? Has everyone else been paid or what?

unreal, all the top guys need to get together and ditch the governing bodies, they should hold the prize money in the bank, prior to the start of event, what a farce

well u did give them verbal which a big no no in that country.. wouldn't be surprised if we didn't get paid and also i heard he will not be running the world 8ball next year... someone else trying to take over it elsewhere maybe in dubai .. every year we always been paid cash..strange that the accountant forgot to bring the money .... again all the blame needs to be pointed at wpa, but the idiots we are we just accept it and turn up at next event . ----------------- world ranked no 1 and current world 9ball champion Available for exhibitions & coaching www.darrenappleton.com [ This message was edited by: dynamitedaz on 2012-02-29 01:19 ]

I understand that the money transfers are being undertaken today and tomorrow and that everyone should have the money available within 5 working days thereafter. The promoters have limited staff to undertake this procedure so please understand that this is quite a big logistical exercise to complete payment to 80 players. The problem stemmed from the sponsors (Etisalat) failing to provide their contribution to the agreed timeframe. But the event is underwritten by Sheik Saleh and he provides the bridging finance to complete the payments to players. I believe that the event will go ahead again next year and with increased prize money courtesy of the people at the new Fujairah City Centre development which will surround the venue next year. It is no mean feat that the promoter has managed to sustain an event like this since 1990 and players should count their blessings. For almost as long as the event has existed there has been plenty of hot air blowing but no action from Dubai and this is just another blast of it. Finally, So you should consider yourself lucky that you do not find yourself incarcerated in a Fujairah jail cell. It is a criminal offence to defraud hotels by charging items to other people's rooms. Both Luke Rollison and Jayson Shaw were victims of your criminal activities and you will not be accepted into any future events

GB9 has 60+ players to pay out after each of our 5 tour stops so not far short of what these officials have to pay out, except they only have to do it once per year. GB9 Prize money is ALWAYS paid within the week following the event. We can do that because we have a good system and are well organised. Why can't organisors of major world events, who have far greater resources than us, do the same? Why are the money transfers only being done now? A: Because they are grossly incompetent and don't care about the players. It's a disgrace for a fan of the game such as myself to be watching how these top professional players are treated...

You are a fine one to talk Doug, you have been robbing people for decades and you don't like it because I say it how it is. I never ran away from any hotel bill there, Rollinsons bill was paid by me without any heritation and I DID NOT sign anything on J Shaws room! It is not rocket science to see what has happened there and more over how dare you go on an International forum and say such things about me!! That is not right under any circumstance, your actions was not right at all. I am not short of a dime and not bad natured and will always stand my ground regardless.

Well So, if you are so 'not bad natured' and not short of a dime, why don't you pay me and Melling the £1500 you owe us and have done since you did a runner months ago.
While you are at it, find room in your over flowing bank account to pay Philip Stojanovic if you can remember that far back (Paris jog any memories).
I know you think it's all one big game and I hear you have been bragging about doing a runner on us. I am sure you will have fun describing your actions to me when we meet again. Chris is very easy going, unfortunately I am not.
Fun and games? No...you are just a bad seed.
That isn't libellous, that is fact.
