Hi All,
Just wondered if you would give me your views on the best Break Cue on the market at the moment.
I have a Sledgehammer Break/Jump at the moment but i find it very difficult to control the cue ball, although the power on the shot is immense and i am making balls from the break i find that i have no shot on the next ball due to the cue ball being on a cushion.
I was looking at either the BK2 or the X-Breaker but i am willing to venture away from Predator if there was a better one out there.
If i were to get rid of the Sledgehammer i would also be getting a new jump cue. I hear the Predator Air is awesome and also the Mezz Airshooter.
Could you give me any views on which would be the best Jump cue to purchase also.
Cheers Guys

You can't got wrong with BK2 or X-Breaker and if they aren't working I'd say think you need to spend more time practicing your break and learning off the best players than worrying about the cue.

The Best break cues on the market anywhere, are the Varney J/B's by US cuemaker, Kevin Varney. I have been looking all over AZB forums, and every single person, that has got one of his break cues, have said that it pretty much blows the X Breaker away. If any of you want to, I'll get the contact details for Kevin, and for those of you interested, can get in touch with him, and see what he's got to offer I'm looking to order one in the next month or so Willie ----------------- If ya got 'em, smoke 'em [ This message was edited by: TheWizard on 2007-08-11 22:40 ]

Deano - if it's ok can i have a few breaks with your X-Breaker when we next practice.
Wizard - Does Kevin Varney have a website in which i could look into these break cues, if not i would appreciate if you could get me the contact details.
Cheers

Gulyassy are great break cues, there would very easily rival the 3rd Gen X Breaker and the Jericho Stinger J/B, but again, from the reviews that I've read, they fall short of the Varney J/B. For anyone that are interested in a Varney J/B, then I have chatted with Kevin and he has given me his e-mail address, then PM me, and I'll send it to you. I would also recommend that if you guys are interested, you may get in soon, because from what I gather, there's quite a list of people looking for a top quality basher. Yes, the Stinger J/B's are made by US Cuemaker, Jerry Powers, the tip is made of a canvas resin pheonolic, but the ferrule has a small core out of it, and the cue tip, is actually shaped like a golf tee, so that all the shaft absorbs the shock from the cuepower that is used on the break, therefore supposedly helping to give that little bit extra power.
I'm not sure what the standard taper is on the Stinger, but they are definitely amoungst the highest end quality break cues out there.
Of the best break cues out there at the moment to my knowledge are.
1. Varney J/B 2. 3rd Gen X-Breaker, Gulyassey J/B, Andy Gilbert J/B, Stinger J/B or Sledgehammer J/B
I hope that this helps a little.
