Your original instructions were to post on this thread, which I've done (for me & Nick Wollerton) so I take it we're in the draw. I've texted Mick Hill & Andy Worthington and asked them to call you direct to confirm.

Congratulations Carl on another great win.

It's my first time to this club and I really enjoyed the event. The club and the staff were great.

My only feedback was about the prize fund distribution. I shared my thoughts with indiana yesterday but I'll mention them here too just to add to the debate. Basically I think the distribution was completely inappropriate for an event like this. This is not a pro event and I know one of the objectives was to make those players outside the top 16 rankings feel like they have a chance to get somewhere in the tournament. So if that's the case and the prime objective is not necessarily to attract the very top pros why make the prize money so top heavy towards the winner? Having won 3 matches (one against a top 5 player) and reached the quarter finals I was dismayed to only pick up £35 (just £10 up on the day) whereas the winner picks up more than 21 times that amount. Even if you lost your first match you get free entry into the plate and the runner up picks up £50. And if you win the plate you pick up £110 - more than if you reach the semi final of the main event! So on reflection I could well have been better off if I'd lost my opening game.

That's my only criticism and, since I rarely enter an event because of potential winnings (good job really the way I play!) it's not the most important thing about the event. More important is the club, people, atmosphere organisation etc and that was top draw. Can't wait for the next one.

Thanks Justin.

Didn't play well at all against Carl in the Final, not the greatest match ever, but he deserved the win.

Well done Mr Houdini :)

Cheers Richard for a great competition, well run!! The standard of the competition was very high with the field including 9 of the top 20 EPT players!

I agree with Riggers regarding the prize money breakdown in the main competition, it is probably a bit too top heavy to be honest. It just needs to be a little more evenly distributed. The prize money for the plate was more or less spot on and i dont think any prize money should be taken from the plate as this would give the plate no value.

Congratulations to Carl for winning the event and to Chris for making the final who was playing superb pool. Also well done to Andy Barnett for winning the plate.

Thanks everone who attended the event, of course without the players help you can't run an event at all.

looking at next year aswell, i really think the events are going to be a huge sucess and i take everyones views/comments on board to make the next tournament even better.

Also having reflected on the tournament i do now agree the quater-final money was maybe a bit to low, but that had nothing to do with me, it was all shirs fault, she told me exactly what prize structure to have and i just went along with it

hi shir,
i cant say thanks enough for your help at the weekend and you are more than welcome back again, you were first class,

i think the next drink or two is on me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also well done to chris great performance mate,

and to carl magnificent play all day

well played carl and chris. i watched most of carls matches up to and including the final and his opponents put up a real fight. took a real show of class to battle through the tough side of the draw like he did. chris was excellent as well - quietly dispatching opponent after opponent as he seems to do.

Riggers, if you "shared your thoughts" with indiana about the prize fund distribution, why come onto the forums and moan about it? hardly constructive. if you won the event and 1st place prize would you spare a thought for the quarter finalists pockets?

sunday was a top event, excellent field, well run, a great day out and more events like it are what is needed. bring on the Mickey's events next year - serious talent, serious cash - cant wait.

In my opinion I was providing constructive feedback about what I considered to be a really good tournament, rather than moaning as you put it. I posted my comments here to try and stimulate the thoughts of other pro9'ers. Sorry you have a problem with that.

What?!?!

Grrr I've got nothing to do with the prize-money!!!

Maybe I did have something to do with the rest (draw, schedule and things) but didn't with the money!
;)

Now you owe me at least 10 more drinks!!! :-D
