I can announce that the number 1 European ranked player, Nick Van Den Berg from Holland will be competing in the EPT Midlands Open held in Solihull this coming weekend.
The big names just keep on coming in to add to the players from the last event in London.
Tony "the Tornado" Drago will be in attendance too along with the recent Swiss Open winner Jonni Fulcher.
Add to these 9ball players, snooker players, english 8ball players and other European players and we have another record breaking EPT event.

If you havnt got your entry in yet, i suggest you do so now, as the closing date for entries is this Wednesday at MIDNIGHT!!!

All the details of the event are on our website at www.empirepooltour.com or just click on the reg plate below
:-P

Dave,

I'm glad this technology is being utilsed - will the scores be updated live as they happen over the weekend??

I found this really useful when keeping track of the Euro Tours - adds to the excitment of sitting in front of a laptop!!!! LOL LOL LOL

YES!!! :D

Andy Watts has hand-coded the software and we've practiced with it a bit and it seems fine.

As it's our first time using this, we'll just be doing featured matches, maybe four matches at a time will be scored rack-by-rack, other matches will be updated the second the match has finished.

Obviously we hope to continually improve the software and maybe next time there will be even more features.

I would just like to say that I am pleased to be part of the Pro9 team, and have enjoyed this project. I shall be in attendance at Solihull to see the smooth running of this new feature.

Talking about the draw.... EPT Manchester the draw was done in front of everyone.

Just wondering who did the draw on the last event? where did it happen? Who witnessed it?

Whats happening this time with the draw?

I believe Geoff Edge made the draw for EPT Harrow with Daryl and it was done on the Friday before the event.

The draw last time was done at the club on Friday evening the night before the tournament all players were invited to be present via Pro9 and it was witnessed by more than a dozen players and if I remember correctly Geoff Edge and Brett Armer drew out the chips, as for Solihull the draw will be done midday Thursday and will be witnessed on this occasion by myself who is not taking part in the tournament but as usual will run the event on the day, also witness will be Andy Worthington, Daryl Peach and Steve Higton although if you want to be present anyone you are welcome to contact Daryl to be present and witness the draw live, for future tournaments we hope to arrange a live webcast internet draw but this cannot be atrranged in time for Solihull, Also Daryl will have some very good news for you on the Tables front very soon but I will leave Daryl to tell you as he has more info than me... See you all in Solihull ...

Yes, i think Mark has covered just about everything in his last post.
The draw will be made at midday Thursday so anyone who wants to come to Blackpool to witness the draw may do so, just contact me before hand.

In future we are looking into doing the draw live on the web so that should be good.

A few things about Solihull:

The draw will be published Thursday afternoon/evening on this site as well as the EPT site along with all the match times so that players can arrange their travel accordingly!

I received a phone call from the manageress at Soliuhll telling me that all the tables are now complete.....reclothed and recushioned!

I have the material which will be used to cover the large window in the playing area so there will be no glare!

The Cue doctor will be in attendance so if anyone needs any cue repairs they will be able to get them done in front of their own eyes at a good price!

For this event we are looking into running a book so that anyone who fancies a flutter can do so....more info on this will be coming soon!

Also for this event we are looking into having a cue/equipment stand for anyone looking to buy pool related stuff....more info soon!

All the match scores will be available LIVE RACK BY RACK on this site AND the EPT site throughout the event!

Make no mistake, this event is looking like its gonna be the best event the UK has EVER seen, so if you have not entered yet, or know someone who has not entered yet, please do so/tell them now to avoid disapointment!

The cut off point for entries is less than 2 days away now........WEDNESDAY AT MIDNIGHT!!!......and there will be NO exceptions!

Sounds like a great weekend of pool. This will be my first EPT event and I can't wait. The idea of running a book is brilliant too. Am sure most players enjoy a flutter.
