I've had a quick read through the rules and from what I can see they are IPT rules with the exception that phenolic tips are allowed. Has anyone spotted any other differences?

And a couple of questions...

1. The dress code states that long or short sleeved 'button up shirts' are required. I *think* that description rules out polo shirts (even though they have buttons!). Can someone clarify?

2. In both EPT and IPT rules there is no mention of the requirement to always call the pocket on the 8-ball no matter how obvious it might be. Does this mean that this silly rule has been dropped? I've always thought it was a bit daft because even if you don't call the pocket there is little the opponent can do about because the onus is on the opponent to question you if they are not sure which pocket you are playing for.

1, Smart Polo shirts are included in this.

2, If a player has an obvious shot then he/she does not have to call the ball/pocket. If the shot isn't so obvious then he/she should call the ball/pocket. If the opposing player is unsure what shot the player at the table is going to play, then he/she should stop the player and question him/her on the shot in order to clarify. But if the tournament director finds that a player is using this rule in order to "shark" thier opponent, then they will be penalized.

Hope this clears your questions up.

Thanks dazzler.

I know what you are saying about the call shot rule but can you specifically say that the rules that apply when on the 8 ball are no different than when on any other ball.
