Well. the "other" World Cup is here, the football one, and there's no point ignoring it - I'm sure Pro9 will be dead if we don't talk about it here, so here goes...

Who are you supporting?

What did you think of last night's first match?

Who do you think will win?

Has anyone got any good betting tips?

How can Pro9 run a sweeptstake now that it's started? (Perhaps after the Group Stage has finished? What do you think?)

Of course I'm supporting England! I'm think last night's game was awful. The sound was rubbish like 5 live radio can't hear it then suddenly it's really loud. Brazil get given a penalty as hone nation that they wouldn't get in any other country. In regards to a sweepstake you can still get one going. It doesn't matter if matches are already played as still random who you get, imo a sweepstake should have a good prize and would sugguest minimum £5 per team.
What's other people opinion on last night's match?

I thought the match was ok, however it was definitely NOT a penalty and players were going down far too easily. Unfortunately football has gone this way over the past years and until a video referee is introduced it will continue to happen.
I won't be supporting England as they are tripe, they play boring football and it's a chore to watch.
I personally think Argentina will win it this time!

Just to add i got Germany in my sweepstake at work! Good a chance as anyone

Sweepstake: total number of goals (closest prediction). I'll go 154 :-)

I thought it was a good match with Italy tonight - shame about the result, but a pretty good performance by England.

I thought it was a gallant failure. We didn't get the rub of the green in a couple of situations and I was a bit annoyed we didn't put our bodies on the line for their first goal (so to speak). Plenty to be positive about. Just have to keep Suarez quiet on Thursday now.
