Personally, I think FB has been responsible for a slump in activity on pool forums all over Europe, and from what I've seen, I think Pro9 must be one of the few long-standing pool websites in Europe that's still growing.
Although I "spam" Facebook with our news and offers, and I've even sampled advertising there, I don't like what it's doing because if you're not "friends" with the person organising a new tournament, then you don't know anything about it until too late.
I also think our industry is tempted to advertise there, but it's outside our industry and it doesn't do anything for us (the pool community) when that happens.
Do you think this could this be the beginning of the end, or is Facebook part of life forever now?

If i want to talk to my mates - i'll call em or meet them down the local. I never seen the point of having 600+ "friends" if you wouldn't stop to say "hello" to 500 of them in the street. I dont want to know if somebody is veggin out with a pot noodle watching Corrie. Am i over FB?

Some posts are ok, but today's "doozey" is the guy just complaining about the size of his side salad from Subway... Really, is anyone going to be interested in that?
