Im just writing to say wot good news it is that we r going to have a big 9-ball event in this country next year! Before any doubtors come on here saying it wont happen,im pretty sure it will as after i won the BPPPA Iwan Simonis Classic in Manchester 3 weeks ago i was interviewed by Channel M to promote the tournament,i dont know all the details but i do know the tournament is to be played at the City Of Manchester Stadium. Its great news for pool in this country that our 9 ball tour is getting bigger and better along with its recent improvements and couple this with the EPT 8 ball tour we have you can safely say the future of pool is looking extremely good, see you all soon, Mark.

Yes, sounds good.....hope it all works out! On another note, i have just emailed Ted regarding his calander for next years events. The second event which is 16/17th Dec is clashing with the IPT king of the hill and also the 2007 tour card qualifiers held in Vegas. ....There are quite a lot of players who will be in attendance at the IPT event..... ....................Daryl Peach, Imran Majid, Raj Hundal, Andy Worthington, Mark Gray, Darren Appleton, Mick Hill, Karl Boyes, Rob McKenna, Pat Holtz, Neil Raybone, Brian Saleh, Lee Chenman, Carl Morris, Phil Harrison, Tony Drago, Steve Higton, Jonni Fulcher, tim Singh, Chris Melling, Andy Barnett........... ........And there will be more, as these are just the players i can think of right now. Hopefully Ted can change the date -----------------

Dazzler, Firstly, Let me congratulate you on a tremendous win at Guildford. For those that missed it it was probably one of the best finals we have seen to date. Unfortunately I was in a meeting for the first part of the final but managed to see the nail biting conclusion. Congratulations also to Carl 'Houdini' Morris who played brilliantly all weekend and competed at the highest level in this thrilling encounter. In your post you raise a very good point here and I will address the question publicly so everyone is aware of the situation. Week 1 weekend in December contains the IPT Chicago event Week 2 in December is the Euro Tour event in Spain Week 4 contains Christmas Eve - anybody want to travel then? So, this only leaves Week 3 and the dates of 16th - 17th December. For those who are not aware, Billiards Digest have held an exclusive interview with Kevin Trudeau and I quote: BD: You’ve cancelled London and postponed the King of the Hill, correct? KT: Because the financing is a lot less than we thought, we’re probably going to have to push the King of the Hill into the early part of next year. That’s not official yet, though. BD: Is Chicago 100 percent? KT: As of this moment, yes. The full interview can be found at: http://www.billiardsdigest.com/trudeau_interview/The question I ask myself is "what can we believe?" If we believe everything he says we will be believing his book as well! We cannot therefore be changing dates and upsetting our sponsors on the chance it will take place. If the King of the Hill does take place then it will indeed be a shame to miss so many of our talented players at our event. Many people have soon forgotten that the IPT clashed with the British Open so I personally only have contempt for Trudeau and the IPT (and for especially for the way players are being treated and the lies that have been written) and have said on many occasions from their inception that I do not think it will last, I hope that it does not harm the billiard sport and moreover, that I sincerely hope the British boys can reap as much cash from it as possible while it lasts. To answer Chris's question, the event at the City of Manchester Stadium is the UK 9 Ball Championship. This event will be huge; it will attract players from overseas and in particular the benefit for BPPPA members will be that they receive the invitations first. Higher ranked BPPPA player/members will be seeded in the tournament but I will elaborate on the tournament and its format in the coming months. The British Open is still on the table and I can confirm that we are still working on this as well. It has not been shelved. However, and I will be straight with you here and put it on record, we will not be holding the B.O. until we definately know what is happening with the IPT and we receive contractual guarantees that date clashing will not be an issue. Ted's right, you can't believe anything KT says at the moment.
The BPPPA and other tours must not allow the IPT to dictate there tournament schedules on the off chance that an IPT event might be held. We could end up with NO tournaments to play in!

I also have to agree with Ted, Pool-Ace, etc, the level of uncertainty from the IPT is something that is only going to cause more confusion if everyong is concentrating on what the IPT is doing, whereas, with the situation that the IPT is in at the moment, I think that they too, should be looking to work around all the other tours that are operating and so, I think that in terms of the december dates, I think that Ted is just right to stick to their calendar on this and perhaps do the same for the British Open, which along with the proposed UK 9Ball Championship, would be events that are very much worth waiting for and I look forward to the chance to participate in either of these events Reguardless of the decisions for what event is held when, I'm happy to just go with the flow Willie [ This message was edited by: TheWizard on 2006-10-25 18:01 ]

Ted, Firstly thanks for the nice comments on my recent win in BPPPA event at Guildford this weekend......i really enjoyed the venue, tables, conditions, and organization.....it was a great event, Carl played superb in the final, and it was one of the most enjoyable matches i have played in. Secondly, I for one knew about the interview with Kevin Trudeu and Billiards digest, and i obviously know the current situation regarding the IPT as its in my own interest to know what the latest news is. I totally understand your views on this matter, but may i ask what will happen with the Manchester event IF the KotH does go ahead as previously scheduled? Its like i mentioned to you at the weekend, that as a paying member of the BPPPA i, like every other member should be able to play in ALL BPPPA events. I know we have a choice of which event we want to go to if there is a date clash, but at the same time most players will go where the money is......and i would hate to miss Manchester in December as its one of the local events for me, and also you have the yearly player awards etc....its a great venue and event in general. For me this is whats happened towards the end of this season on the BPPPA....i have had to miss 4 events because of date clashing, and because of this i have been unable to defend my number1 spot on the rankings......i'm good buddies with Mark Gray, and i am definately not taking anything away from him as its totally possible that he would have ended up at the number1 spot anyway, but it would have been nice to try and defend my position. All the way down the rankings this has happened as players have been playing on IPT and Eurotour events....its not just about me. At the same time i understand as a tour organizer, that there are only 52 weekends in a year and sometimes its totally unavoidable to clash dates for events. Basically, from my own point of view, i see that we have a great thing going on here in the UK pool scene....with the BPPPA and now the EPT, and as a player i want to play in every event on both tours just like most other players. I hope you can understand where im coming from. -----------------
