Is it safe to race this circuit?

I've never noticed the problem with the divider between the run-off as the cars enter the tunnel before, but as Qualifying was being conducted I thought, "my goodness that doesn't look safe" and sure enough, two cars had big problems that could have been a lot worse.

Has the course changed slightly this year, or has the underpass always been like that? I don't remember it being so bad when I worked there.

Did you watch? What do you think?

Are you talking about at the exit of the tunnel where Perez and Rosberg had the crashes? Cannot think of anything at the start of the tunnel.

They replayed Coulthard's crash in qualifying 3 years ago and the circuit layout around there was exactly the same.

F1 is a dangerous sport at the end of the day, crashes are bound to happen no matter if it is a street circuit or not.

That's where I first met Andy Esgrove... He worked at F1 too! (We were based at the rather less glamourous Sapphire House in Biggin Hill... Not Monaco!!!)

Yeah, sorry, it's the exit... Really hope no one goes head-first full blast into that - just looks like an invitation for disaster to me!

could do with some of them "Pro-Tec" barriers round the table when I break off !....as the cueball fly's off the table at 100mph every time ......kill someone one day !
