Well I know we all want Daz to win, but I think having England rather lose is going a bit far Riggers!

England could lose tonight and still get through. This is massive for Daz and he deserves it. What's more, anyone who's followed this game in the UK for the last few years will be wishing him on like you would wish jimmy on at snooker. Simple As. Come on Daz!

He's the best pool player in the UK as far as I'm concerned - any discipline. Just can't say how gutted I am that he didn't win it this year before the IPT starts. It will be interesting to see how he lives with some of the all time greats like Reyes on the IPT. Do you think he can challenge them and compete for titles on the IPT?

Be as good as Reyes? No - who could? Challenge them and compete for titles with them? You'd better believe it! There is no UK player better equipped under tough match conditions to beat those guys than Daz. I have total respect for Daryl, Imran and Raj for what they have done for this cue sport in the UK and we are doubly lucky that in this country we also have the best pool brains and talent around because of our English pool heritage. Daz and Mick stand out and I expect them to do very well. My favourites at the 8 ball game are Daz, Daryl & Mick. There are some awesome european 8 ball players like Alcaide, Van Den Berg and Ortmann (obviously the latter 2 prefer 9 ball but are still awesome at 8 ball) but would you really back them against our boys? Don't think so! [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2006-06-15 22:55 ]

Of the european players other than our UK boys, i reckon Alex Lely will be the main man, i cant remember exactly when it was but i think around 2003 he won a bar of gold playing 8 ball in the Emirates with some classy world players, he was 2005 European 8-Ball and 9-Ball Champion as for strategy he is a warm one pocket player, which is the chess of the pool table so i reckon he is one to watch out for. Oh course there is Rico too who will be in the first event having got through a tough switzerland qualifier, And two more to watch for would be Boyzi i reckon he is well worth a bet if he turns up for the Victoria qualifier after his past efforts in qualifying and also Andy "Rocket" Richardson if he enters, another class player at the small ball 8 ball but vastly experienced in the big ball game too. I would say i've had the pleasure of playing Andy but its more like i've had the pleasure of a comfy chair waiting to get a shot LOL! Good Luck Andy and Karl ----------------- [ This message was edited by: PC on 2006-06-15 23:18 ]

There is one other player from the UK that hasn't been mentioned yet.
A player with a proven track record in both 8-Ball (UK) and 9-Ball (US) disciplines...
A 'devil'-may-care character who has gambled his ability and skill against the hum-drum of 9-5 office life.
A player who has played the best. Beaten the best. And... did it wearing a.......
..........KILT!!!!!!!
Have you forgotten about Pat Holtz?
The 'Devil' is about to enter the arena.
The IPT is hotting up. The UK players are in training. 24/7.
Viva Las Vegas!

Just wanna say well done to Mark Selby....a true class act it has to be said, and bad luck to Daz Appleton, a legend on the little table, now concentrating on the big table....along with the rest of us Brits i think there is gonna be some real excitement on the IPT......and EPT.
