£2000 guaranteed about time something like this happened, but what is good is the prize money for the last 16 £250 I think better than £40 I have won in the past for getting to that stage, I am looking forward to it but It would be nice to know if you guys are gonna be there in force.

I think this is a fantastic idea and the chance to play in a new 8 ball tour is an exciting prospect. I am really looking forward to the first event. I heard about this tour a while ago but now that it has actually formed this is great news for British pool players and playing 8 ball, which I believe is better than 9 ball, is a major bonus. Im glad to see the prize money structure has been looked at in great detail and I wish Daryl and Mark all the very best in running the tour. Hi guys, yes the Empire pool tour is now up and running. We have already had a superb response and we are extremely pleased with the way things are going. cusack_147, the prize fund was one of the main things we had to get right for this tour to be a big success, and we feel that the prize money break down will be pleasing to the eye for every player concerned....we also believe that the IPT spot that is up for grabs at our first event in Manchester, is a great chance for somebody to realise the potential of the international pool tour for them selves. Another massive factor here, is that ALL the prize money is guaranteed!!
We really do look forward to seeing you all in Manchester for this great event.

I'm also certain that the EPT will succeed. As Daryl says on the EPT website 'he's been around the block a few times' and knows what the players expect from a tournament. From what I've seen so far, the EPT is offering more already.
Best of luck to all entering (and organizing) the EPT.
One more thing....
What about a Scottish tour stop?

Blue_suede, we are already looking into next years tour stops and Scotland is on the list. As you can see from this years events, they are distributed as fair as poss, 1 north England, 1 South and on Midlands. The only reason that Scotland wasnt included this year was because there are only 3 events.
The flyers for the first event in Manchester are been printed now, and will be distributed shortly, to as many events as we can get them to.

I can definitely and wholeheartedly say that the guys up there in Scotland deserve a tour stop or 2 because they too put alot of effort into their tour and it's a pretty darn good tour as well and very competitive as well as them all being a great bunch of lads.
Take care everyone.

The EPT definitely looks good and it is about time there were more US 8ball comps in the UK
The guaranteed prize money looks good as well, but doing some quick maths I reckon for that prize fund of £8,000 total, you would need at least 107 advance entry fees of £75.
And if 5% (£400) is taken off the prize fund for admin costs then you need another 5 entries to get £8,400, meaning 112 players.
Obviously if more players pay £90 on the day, then there would be more in the pot, but this structure still looks like it needs massive turnouts to work.
I don't mean to be negative about this, just trying to work out the numbers... Can you really guarantee that prize fund if only 64 players turn up for example?
Good luck with it anyway Daryl & Mark!

There is good sponsors already in place that's why the prize fund is guaranteed, and if all goes well then that prize fund could easily rise in the near future, it is up to the players themselves to make it work and what you the players have been crying out for now it is here it is up to you.

The respose to the launch of the Empire pool tour (EPT) has been superb! Even i am a little suprised by the amount of emails, phone calls, texts that we are receiving SO SOON after the launch, from players wanting to be part of the EPT.

What balls will be used on this tour, will they be aramith pro balls like used on the BPPPA or will they be Brunswick Centenniel like used on the IPT? Or something else? [ This message was edited by: cusack_147 on 2006-05-02 12:07 ]

We are in the middle of making a deal with one of the big billiard ball manufacturers at the moment. Once the deal is finalised we will be making an official press release on the matter.
