Hallo everyone,
I have another tournament coming up and just wanted to let you know about this one.
The event will take place on Sunday the 27th of May.

Venue:Riley's,Stretford
Entry :£10
Draw :11:00{everybody should be in by 11:00}
Start :12:00

The club opens at 10:30 so if you want to come and practise before the tournament starts tables will be on freeplay from 11:00.

1st round:race to 4 round robin{garanteed 3 matches}
After round robin double ko
Final race to 8

All entryfee will be paid out.
More players enter means more prizemoney.

This tournament is ONLY open to amateurs so that means the top 64 of the BPPPA and the EPT are not allowed to enter this event.
This is good news for the amateur cause you will only be playing players of your standard.

To enter you can call,text,email or pm me/you can also enter on the day before 11:00
contact:Mike

Just to let everone know the amateur event is only open to amateurs.Somebody asked me if i could do a handicapsystem for players in the top 64 of Bpppa,unfortunatly i cannot do this i want to give the players that aren't as good as pro's a good chance to walk away with the money.But the good thing is that im also doing a pro event for you guys that are in th top 64.Just read the post above and it explains itself.

Only been playing the game 13 months mate and most I've won in a money game is £20. Can't see it paying the mortgage but hey if that makes me a pro, great :D

I would say that there are a lot of "amateurs" out there who could easily beat players towards the lower part of the top 64.

HAHAHAHA,i see your point and it probarly won't pay the bills yet.Your game is still improving and it won't take long before you start climbing the rankings even more.As for the top 64 players within this know what there doing and i think they have an advantage over the amateur.Ihave to draw the line somewhere.What is your ranking anyway?

Cueman i disagree with you i get your point that the lower end of the top 64 maybe aren't the best of players but if there are amateurs out there who can easily beat them.I say that there are amateurs out there who could compete with these guys but win most matches i don't think so.

What I'm saying is there are a lot of players of pro quality who aren't currently in the top 64 of BPPPA or EPT. Ronnie o'sullivan, Mika immonen, Steve Knight etc. etc.

Yep those guys you mention are top notch.Hope they don't all come at once.hahahaha... But seriously if a player is to good for my amateur event and is not on the rankings they will be on another ranking also if these guys would compete in bpppa they'll probarly win.

That is a good point about the rankings. There is also a lot of average to rubbish players ranked between 32 - 64. You could turn up up to every BPPPA and not win a game and you would probably make the top 32. Or at least you used to be able to.

I'd make it the Top 40. As they are more likely to be regular 'pro' players then it's just a matter of spotting the other pros who might slip in... like steve davis or Effren Reyes.

Hi expertfluke,

What im saying is that the tournament on this day is for absolute beginners,locals and amateurs,there is no point in making it top 40 cause you guys will probarly take the prizemoney,there are players outside top64 that are to good to enter aswell.Reg pro's are welcome on the 26th m8.However i will take your tips on board.Cheers

I think this would have worked better as one comp with a handicap system (and maybe a lower entry fee for the amateurs) - rather than a pro and an amateur.

That way you're not going to end up with potentially 2 low turn-out events and the ameteurs get a chance to play better players and improve and with a well worked out handicap may have a chance of winning a few matches. :-)
