The date has been set for the first qualifying tournament for what promises to be an amazing 10 ball tournament at Mickey Flynns in August.

The first qualifier will be held at Coventry Hertford Place Rileys on Sunday 29th April.

The entry cost is only £20.

Entry limited to 32 players on a first come first served basis.

Winner receives entry into Mickey Flynns 10 ball tournament on 18th/19th march with prize fund of £8,000.

As a bonus all players reaching the last 8 but not qualifying will receive their £20 entry fee back.

Format:

8 groups of 4 players
each group match best of 10 racks alternate break.

top 2 from each group qualify for last 16.
Last 16 will be seeded group winners vs runners up.
Last 16 and last 8 will be race to 8 racks, alternate break
Semi Final will be race to 9 racks, winner breaks
Final will be race to 10, winner breaks.

There will be a plate competition for players not making it through group stage, plate competition will be first to 5 racks, alternate break through every round. Winner of plate competition will receive their £20 entry fee back.

To register please let me know on this forum, or call/text on 07951 969108, or email "coventry9ball@hotmail.co.uk"

This promises to be an enjoyable day of pool for everybody and a bargain at only £20, remember you could win entry to Mickey Flynns with a first prize of £2600, pretty good value for a 20 pound note???!!! :-D

Come on guys, is there not anybody else interested in trying to qualify for the mickey flynns event for a bargain price (and enjoy a good day of pool at the same time?)

Some of the tables will be re-clothed in time for this event, but at the moment we are running the risk of having to cancel this qualifier due to insufficient interest/support

I'm up for it too. 16 players would be enough right? You should have no problem getting that.

Cheers guys its looking a bit better now, 16 players would be enough to run the qualifying event, but not enough to cover the extra £20 prizes so i will have to consider changing the format, we will see how numbers progress through the week, definitely looking better now though.

Since the qualification spot is now only worth £100 are you going to change the entry fee or maybe keep the entry fee the same and have some prize money for winner as well as entry into Mickeys? Travelling all that way just to win a potential £100 in a field of 16 or more is not looking quite so attractive!

This is something that does need looking at as i fully agree with you about it being a long way to travel for £100 prize with £20 entry fee.

What would the majority prefer? More prize money or lower entry fee???

Once i have a few opinions Riggers i will make a decision
