It is at Mickey Flynns in Cambridge, unfortunately I think you have missed the boat as the draw has been completed.

Imran beat Ossie in the final 9-8! what a game!!!! It all finished at about 12.30, both players played to such a high standard.....Imran did well to win as he was always chasing but with class he came through to claim victory in the end......Well done Imran and unlucky Ossie

10-9 actually. i was 9-7 up, running out for the match and Alan (my coach) wuda killed me if he was there. made a lovely combo early in the rack to open it up but then lost my composure on the 7 ball. fairly straight, half length of table, needed to screw back 24' for the 8 and caught the knuckle. replayed that shot a few times last night in my sleep - still missed it every fu##in time! lol Bent! anyway, well done to Imran. he still played great to come back and i was pleased that everyone said it was a great final. Thanks Indy for running a suerb comp - 10 ball will never be as popular as 9 ball with a tour, WPC, euro tour etc - however its great fpr someone to run a tourne like that now and again. Even if its straight KO i think Jonesy/Mickeys should stick with 10 ball ffor there tournes. it cud get the numbers up for tournes back to what it used to be like at mickeys with Guranteed 64 field each time. Brilliant. cheers all - happy reading Ossie

Sorry Oz! my mistake i was very tired when i wrote this when i got up! I'll second Ossies comments about the event....Well done Ricardo!!!! Imran said it's the way forward, I do agree that is the case at Mickeys....Isn't it strange that just the one extra ball can make the game so much harder on the mind.....STUPID NUMBER10! Again well done Ossie and many congrats to Imran, sorry for the mistake....ps thanks fro the 9-1 drubbing in the last 16 Oz (why did I have to draw you? )

well, there are so many positives that came out of the tournament i really don't know where to start. first of all thanks for all that turned up, i have always said that without the players no tournament is possible and hopefully with your support mickey flynns can get back what we once used to have. yesterdays tournament was so positive in all the right areas that i will be working my socks off to hopefully bring more events of 10-ball, in fact i will be changing the mickeys calender this year to all 10-ball events and all will carry the same format as on sunday, this is a big decision and could go wrong but i beleive that it is the right one. i think 8-ball recently has taken over since the ipt and i for one thought there was no other game but yesterday and the buzz i personally got from playing made me realise that 8-ball is very straight forward and not much variety to the game, unlike 9 or 10 ball where you have safety battles, kick shots, jump shots, plants, caroms etc etc, so i think 8-ball is best left to one-off tournaments and with the ept staging an event every other month i will support their tour every time. back to yesterday performance of the day has to go to: CAROLINE WALCH reaching the quarters of any event is superb and you fully deserve a mention, all the effort you put in is a lesson for us all and i hope you can take your game onwards and upwards, all the best. hopefully ted will read this and send you to the euro's next year, it's criminal you were not out in liberec. also well done to craig flawless thru out the final BUT and im sorry to say this but my nan could have potted that seven also congratulations to imran another fine display of his talents, no matter the situation he never gives in and anyone watching can learn a great deal. THE NEXT 10-BALL EVENT WILL BE IN TWO WEEKS TIME(APRIL 15TH) AND I AM TAKING ENTRIES FROM NOW ON, AND FORTUNATELY FOR US ALL THERE IS A EUROTOUR THAT WEEKEND WHICH MEANS IMRAN MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO COME. 10-BALL TOURNAMENT date: april 15th venue: mickey flynns, cambridge entry fee: £30 limited to 40 players format: groups followed by staight ko registration: up until 10:15am on the day doors will open at 9:30am make cheques payable to: mickey flynns american pool and send to: 103 mill road cambridge cb1 2az give ricardo a call now to book your spot 07894 905 788 [ This message was edited by: indiana on 2007-04-02 12:29 ]
