Can't believe it! Shir won the weekly 9 ball tournament in Barnsley last night. This was a very well deserved victory - she had to play 8 matches and won 6 of them (no handicapping involved) beating all 3 of the best payers in the club on the way.

I'm going to own up now before she gloats about it but she actually beat me twice, once in the group stages and then again in the final. I'm not at all bitter about the fact she mnanaged 3 golden breaks out of just 5 breaks :(

Over the night she was definately the best player though and really deserved to win.

Well done Shir!

Riggers forgot to mention that 2 out of those 9-ball breaks got kicked in... not straight in...
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
And i did play ok for once... :D

Thanks for mentioning it..
Wasn't planning on putting it on pro9... Just a small mentioning on the blog.. Guess that can wait for a while...

Well done Shir.

Annoying how when you get the 9 ball kicked in for a golden break you get the old 'they weren't racked properly' comment (or glare from your oppenent)

I played a tournament last week and had a golden break in rack 4 (kicked in) as usual the openent wasn't happy and decided he'd rack up the next one.

The opponents name won't be mentioned but lets just say he's ranked in the top 100.

So anyway, he racked them up for my next break and I shot the 9 down (direct this time! ooooops! So I then gave HIM a glare) Needless to say I had the last laugh.

Course, I was happy for him to oblige in racking them up for the remainder of the match. Which I won, with another golden break for good measure.

I'll let these pros into a little break off secret once I'm more established ;)

Well done Shir :-D, it sounds like you had got the measure of the break down to a fine art :) lol

Well done again, and I would also like to say, that this is the perfect example of what I have been saying for a long time now, there are quite a few women players, that can give the guys a serious run for their bankroll, and I think that it's safe to say, that Shir has proven this :)

Congrats again Shir :)

Willie

I always break better than Riggers..
he forgot to mention that the week before he did the same thing..
a straight 9 ball break.. And the week before that the 9 just stay in the pocket but he had a 1-9 combo...
;)

But more happy with they way I played.. not just that i won for once..
I can play.. But don't always bother to do it...
Don't know how to explain it..
Most of the time I can focus for about 5 frames and then I just become lazy..
Haha.. That's why I don't play tournaments...

About time Riggers had some bad luck, so many fluke results lately.

He even beat me once!!!

Well done Shir

Well done Shir, glad I didn't have some money on Rigger's now :o)-

P.S - Can't believe your opponent didn't show pal, very disappointing. Last time any of us arrange a money with him, no point?

Yep, very disappointing. I was told to expect it with him but after being reassured just a few days ago that he was definately up for it I thought he would keep his word. Just shows I should have listened to those that know.

The guy is a waste of space. He did it to me twice, once for money and once at the Grand Masters Qualifier. He will not enter any event I organise ever again.
