is anybody going to the coventry 9-ball event this sunday? i hear the first event was run quite well so i thought id give it a bash. hopefully the relatively low prize fund will scare off most of the big guns. [ This message was edited by: emesy on 2007-03-14 09:37 ]

I'll be there ! ! ! We tried our best to run it well, but it was our first attempt so hopefully it will be even better this time. And with the entry being £10 this time instead of a fiver hopefully this will tempt a few more players as there will be a higher prize fund

Unfortunately yes it is a rileys ! It is impossible for me to predict a finish time until i know the number of entrants on the day but i can tell you what it was last time. 34 entrants. 8 groups (six groups of 4, two groups of 5) Each group match was best of 10 racks. Top 2 players from each group made up the last 16. The last 16 was seeded so group winners play runners up, and the winner/runner up from the same group couldnt play each other. The knockout stages were played race to 7, until semi finals race to 8 and final race to 9. It all finished about 10pm. Payouts were: Winner £85 Runner Up £40 Losing Semi: £12.50 Losing QF: £5 For this tournament obviously it is double the entry so if we have the same amount of runners the prizes will simply be double those shown above. Any more questions feel free to email coventry9ball@hotmail.co.uk or call/text on 07951 969108 Jamie

i will maybe try to organise a flyer with maybe a £5 entry for players who don't make it through the group stage, but this is dependant on numbers, interest, and on the time it takes to complete the group stage

I'd like to go but it's only going to be worthwhile if we can get 3 or 4 in a car. Diamond? Surgeon? PC?

50+ runners would be amazing and also would mean there is a decent sized prize fund for this sort of event
