And the flyers now on will be 8-ball last time was an experiment but the feeling I got after the flyer event in Liverpool, although no one objected before the start was they prefer 8-ball all the way in the future flyers.

Notice a change to the entry fee and prize structure compared to the last event. A good move I think!

Thats fine mate as long as yougive your entry to Steve the manager and he doesnt mind. Ask him to confirm to me via email ok. Any probs let me know and we will sort it out. theteach......we listened to all the players at the last event in Liverpool and also asked as many players as poss at the bpppa event in Manchester and this seemed to be the common denominator! So thats what we have done, and to show our commitment we are putting £900 into the FREE flyer!....its as good as some events on its own! Also, i will be changing the payments regarding Female/juniors to also accomodate Wheelchair players to it too as we have had requests for this. -----------------

Hi Dazzler, This post is probably going to become controversial, and it is not meant to be, so I would like to apologise in advance. For all of you that know me you will know that I am in no way sexist (quite the opposite), but I have to ask the question which could be on other peoples minds as well:- "Why the 50% reduction in entry fees for Females?" I have to ask to understand the logic, as with great respect to the females that play they are "bloody good" so why should they be allowed to pay 50% less than everybody else and still walk away with the full prize money ? Thanks in advance for the clarification but I fully respect your decision if you want to avoid this discussion Cheers Simmo

Ive gotta say, Simmo does have a really good point. But I can understand why juniors are getting it half price, any chance of a discount for students Daryl.

Good point Simmo, but as i have mentioned to you via a PM, we need to encourage Ladies/juniors/wheelchair players to enter our events. Upto now only 1 lady player has entered our events, with now juniors or wheelchair players doing so. It may seem a little harsh to players who are ranked lower and do not take as much of a slice of the prize fund as the top players, but at the moment there isnt enough ladies/juniors/wheelchair players playing to warrant there own EPT tours so this is the only solution to encourage them to take part, this will hopefully then creat a serge of more of these players playing our game in this country which would then benefit each having their own tour! But for now this is how it has to be. -----------------

Hi Simmo - Hello Pro 9 In answer to your question - we need to encourage more females into the game and into our events. We need to help grow this game which is why juniors will also have the opportunity to enter at a discount. I do not believe that there are any females in The UK (at this time) that play this game full time or are favourite to win an EPT event, thus the discount. If any top players decide to attend from Europe or USA, ie Jasmin, I believe they would deserve the discount for their efforts! Obviously when top uk female players are able to compete with top male players at the top level, then we will look at this again. Please remember that The EPT is a loss making venture but I hope that we have further demonstrated our commitment to the game by increasing prize fund and adding the free flyer. This has never been a moneymaking excercise for me and I am not in this for ego, I just love pool so give myself and Daryl your support by coming to this next event, it's going to be a great one. I believe that in a few years from now it will be possible to earn a good living from pool. Being involved with The EPT and many of the top UK Players, I have always wanted to be a part of making this happen. Both myself and Daryl have ideas that may help bring it to the masses - but this will not happen overnight and we need to be able to show the media that the game is gaining popularity. We can only do this with your help. For now. I don't mind losing and looking for that 1 angle that will turn this sport into a household name, your loyalty to the EPT gives me the enthusiasm to continue to invest my money and my time. Please understand that anything we do, discouts for women, juniors, wheelchair etc is not to take anything away from you, it is because we believe it is good of the game and will bring attention to the game. As always, please do let me know if you disagree with anything in my post or mail myself or Daryl if you want to share. Hope to see you all in Harrow! Hi Mark/Daryl, Thanks for the replies and clarification. As mentioned, I do fully support everything you are doing verbally and also practically by turning up for my lessons at every event I just wanted to get a better feel for things which you have clarified. In addition, the flyer is a great idea and I look forward to seeing everyone in Harrow. Cheers Simmo

jc I put it on record that if you turn up in a dress and high heals, I will give you the discount and no tests will be carried out. We may get some much needed publicity so by all means pull off that stunt if you are comfortable with it! This offer is not available to anyone else though. If all of you guys start crossdressing it may cause confusion in that area of London. In other places such as Earls Court it is of course quite normal. Thanks for your further reply simmo. See you in Harrow. Best Regards Mark [ This message was edited by: UKSportsManagement on 2007-03-08 17:23 ]
