Firstly, Happy New Year everyone...the Derby City Classic starts today (5 Jan). I'm told of only 2 UK players playing in it so far, Steven "The Real Deal" Folan and Daz...Best of luck to them both and anyone else flying out to it.
Nigel sends!

One or two interesting rules in this tournament. 9 BallBreak shot - The winner of the last rack has the option to break. Shouldn't think too many people will give the break to the opponent!! Must attempt an "open break". Failure to attempt an open break is a foul. How would you judge this?, I presume that the normal "4 balls hit the rail" rule will applyIt is not a foul to accidentally touch one stationary object ball. However, it is an automatic foul to touch 2 or more balls. Curious.....[ This message was edited by: malaguista on 2007-01-06 09:54 ]

I like the DCC, it's undoubtedly the best tournament around , after all, how many pool tournaments give you so many differen disciplines, in the one event, with 9 days of non stop action and gamble as much as you want? , come on, this is a tournament that everybody should be wanting to go to Willie

I have bought the coverage for the event, it seems to be a lot better than last year as they are leaving the live feed on for a lot longer. It is on now 5-30pm UK time, it didn't used to start until at least 11pm last year.

so far I have not heard of any big money action except the match in which phillippines Dennis Orcollo gave wild 8 and 9 to chris bartrum playing 10 Ball for 6,000.00$ a set and dusted him.It seems Jason Miller was breaking for Chris. In another notable action Effren gave 10-7 on his break to scott frost in one pocket for some fish heads. Yes, the action looks kind of slow this year, till now. There was supposed to be a 10-ball ring game, but no players entered since Bustamente, Parica, Orcollo and Reyes was standing next to the table, and the first two had already signed up. Guess no one wanted to be on a ringgame table with them I'll definitely go in 2008

I'll definitely go in 2008 I read that in 10 ball ring game orcollo broke and ran 3 in a row and 2 racks before and the ring game was over.there was not much money involved. 9 ball banks is coming to close.Effren is in the hot seat.He will play the the winner of Luat VS stevie moore. Stevie beats luat and also he beat effren.now effrenhas to play Luat and the winner will play stevie in the finals.folks i am as confused as u are with this weard format.
