just read the EPT advert and notice that entry fee has gone up from £75 to £90. Also, the prize money has all decreased with exception of the last 32 which will now get £90 (money back) whereas there used to be no payout for the last 32. I notice that total prize fund of £7300 is guaranteed with an increase if there are 100 or more entries, but at £90 per person you only need 81 entries to break even which should not be a problem in any case. Don't know if i'm missing something but should there be 99 entries does that mean prize fund stays as it is and if so where does the extra £1620 entry fees go?
Was also under the impression that these events were sponsored but cannot see any added prize money. would be interested to hear anyone else's views on this.

This was fully mentioned and explained under the other EPT topic in full, please read the forums completely and you will see the reason explained by Dazzler.

No probs Rag, i'll explain breifly. We have no financial sponsors, although things are looking very bright for this to happen in the near future. UK sports managment back the tour, so that the prize money is guaranteed even if there are only 50 players enter......no other tour does this! At the same time the EPT isnt a charity and we would like it to pay for itself, so this is why we increase the entry fee slightly, as last year we made a loss of £6,000 in three events. After the 4 ranking events for this season we have MASSIVE plans for the tour.....in more ways than one. I hope this helps you Rag. -----------------
