Hi All, I have designed the website which will involve The Grand Masters, 10 Ball Tour, Calcuttas, Ladies Tour and more, I have decided there is enough info on there now to release it although plenty more will be added as I go along, I have worked on this over the last 3 days and has probably took me all of 12 hours in total, it's a start.
Check It Out at www.cuesportuk.com

a calcutta is like a player auction where everyone bids on all the players to win the event!!!!! If someone buys a certain player for 200quid they have to offer the player in question to buy half off themself.... If the player wins the event or gets in the top 4-5 they get a percentage off the total bids!!!!
Think thats it!!! lol

You've pretty much summed it up Paddy The one thing to remember is, when you're bidding on a player, anyone else can bid on the same player, and so, you can be outbid, as each player is auctioned before the draw is made I bid on myself to win a tournament for £40 last year, in a tournament and won the tournament and the calcutta , which was pretty nice indeed Calcuttas are a must for every pool tournament as it boosts the amount of money that both players and/or spectators can get, just from being at a pool tournament , heck there are even guys who go to pool tournaments, that don't even play, the just bet on calcuttas, just like they were betting on a horse at the track Willie [ This message was edited by: TheWizard on 2007-01-01 07:49 ]

Why is it called a 'calcutta' ?
Is it named after the 'blackhole of Calcutta' - because most people's money disappears? Or is it something to do with calculators and cuts - basically it about clever maths?
I'm soooo confused, I think it might be that drink I had last night. By the way, does anyone know who's house this is? My wallet's empty - what's going on!!!
