Hey everyone :)

I thought that I would ask you all, if any of you know, whether the world Straight Pool Championships will be held again this year or if it was just another flash in the 14-1 pan? :)

Also, if the the WSPC is going to be held this year again, what about having a UK Qualifier for the event, maybe 2 spots be made available in the main event? :)

I have checked out the dragon promotions site, but no info on there for any events in '07 :)

Willie

NOTE - E-mail was sent, but was retunred by mailor demon to say that it could not be sent due to a permanent fatal error, on the site's mail server, so that idea is out the window :) lol

That would be sweet and I would definitely be up for that :)

I know that the BPPPA have a 14-1 event on their calendar this year, but as with their open 8ball, no dates announced yet :), but yes, I would very much be up for that :)

Sounds very much like a plan :)

Anyone else up for it? :)

Willie

EDIT - Just on a thought, what about if the 14-1 Open, that's on the BPPA Calendar, was made into the UK Championship 14-1 event? :), with the £100 entry fee? :), I'm sure that a good venue and sponsoship could be found for that event :), maybe from the 'Hustlers' clubs, as it was straight pool that was played in the movie, "The Hustler" :)

14-1 is the game where it doesn't matter if you pot the eight, isn't it? ;)

yeas it is :), nominate every ball & pocket, clear 14 balls, leave the last one standing, re-rack the 14 pocketed balls and continue shooting untill you miss, etc :)

Straight Pool as it's most widely known as :)

I played in NY last year and Ive been promised a spot again for finishing 9th so I hope they do it again! I beleive Randy G (the sponsor) and Charlie Williams are working on holding it again.

I'm hoping it will be around the same time in June but I got the impression dates aren't set yet.

It really is the greatest game, maybe the only pool game were luck doesn't really come into it.

Sweeet :), I too would hope that it's being held again and also, the fact that there's very little luck factor in Straight Pool, is why I prefer it to 8ball, 9ball & 10ball :)

Thanks buddy for the reply and if possible, please keep us all updated on any dates/qualifiers that are set :)

Willie
