Team USA: John Schmidt. Won the US Open, had to withdraw from the WPC, but no one of the yankees finished high in the WPC so guess it will be him
Team Europe: Thorsten Hohmann or Steve Davis. Hohmann won the IPT NA Open, Steve Davis performed ok in the WPC.

Hello, I agree with RugRat. I think Thorsten will probably get the spot although I hope that Steve Davis gets a recall. He really coped well in some tough pressure situations during the WPC even though he lost to someone that he could certainly have beaten in the end. His experience under the TV lights is always a big advantage IMHO. Perhaps Vilmos Foldes might be in with a chance of the spot too, though. Another good WPC performance and some consistent play all year.
Thanks, Chris.

The story so far...
USA Johnny Archer (Georgia) Rodney Morris (Hawaii) Earl Strickland (North Carolina) Mike Davis (Maryland) Corey Deuel (Ohio) + ???
EUROPE Mika Immonen (Finland) Imran Majid (England) Ralf Souquet (Germany) Thomas Engert (Germany) Nick van den Berg (Holland) + ???
Choose one more for each team!

My choice would be Marcus Chamat but I'd be surprised if he gets it.

There are so many players worthy of the spot but based on his performance in the WPC I think Steve Davis should get it.

Schmidt and Hohmann. Cannot see how any other 2 could be picked on their performances in the US Open and IPT.

How can anyone say Davis deserves a spot? He's only ever been in the Mosconi and the WPC by default. Personally, I'd like to see the WHOLE team having earned their places. Does the world of pool still need an aging snooker player to boost its profile? Don't get me wrong, Davis is a living legend in the world of cue sports, but if I hear him say 1 more time "I'm not really a pool player" or "I don't have the experience of the other players/I'm still really learning the game" I'll kill something. I'm not being funny, but I remember seeing Davis play 9-Ball 10 years ago on TV. That's longer than several top pro's I can name have played. What's he done since? Well, he's played OK in the Mosconi and WPC but then being a multi-world snooker champion he can obviously pot a few balls. What has he achieved in 10 years of being gifted entries into whatever major tournaments he wants? Sod all. What we get from him is something like "well, my breaks rubbish so I'm going to find this match tough....." - you've had 10 years to learn how to bloody well break and haven't bothered so don't moan that it's rubbish. Again, Mr Davis is a total legend with a cue. However, show some respect for the players working really hard to make headway in pool - don't turn up at these events that you're at purely because of your name and blather (is that a word?) about how little effort you've put in on a pool table and how you're "just trying to enjoy each match". I think, despite the fact I rate all the players who have been in the Euro team in the past years, this revamp of team Europe is much needed. With 5 new faces, it gives us a fresh feel, and perhaps a winning vibe that the blue team has missed in past Mosconi's. I still to this day cant believe we blew it in 2003!!
So, im confident about our new look side, even though Im huge fans of Hohmann, Feijen, Ortmann and Davis etc. They could all be back next year.

I'll say one thing, with the line up on both side this year, I reckon this is gonna be one the devils playground of a match and I would love to see it go right down to the very last rack, with Europe being the victors I wish all the players the very best of luck , well all the Eurpoean players that is Willie
