early into next year me and mark mills are planning to run a one off tournament.that will be held at stretford rileys in manchester,it will be 32 entrys,500 a man strait ko,big races, break the same format as euro 9b tour, money in money out, hopefully get some sort of sponsorship to increase the prize fund, this gives pro pool players who earn a living at are sport the chance to bump up your annual earnings, and all other players who want to compete against the best, and of course beat them :-( we r starting to take names down and ideas so give us a pm or we shall talk at bpppa...cheers

Even though it will be an exclusive tournament, will £500 for the chance of only having one race not put players off?

not a criticism, just a question!

Well if the IPT can charge $2,000 to qualify for their touraments which don't pay up. I'm sure there will be plenty of takers at £500 and in the the last 32 instantly and £5,000 to the winner?

Good luck with the Competition, its sounds like a great idea. Although out of my league!

This sounds like the english 8 ball JFK Masters event. That tournament was hugely successful and I expect this one will be too but it might be touch and go as to whether you'll get 32. Best of luck with it Boyzone.

It might be fun to start making a list of who we think are possible entrants ....

1. Appleton
2. Boyes
3. Hill
4. Peach
5. Hundal
6. Majid
7. Gray
8. Morris
9. Worthington
10. Holtz
11. Donlan
12. Raybone
13. Shaw
14. McKenna
15. Barnet
16. Harrison
17. Melling
18. Chilton
19. Saleh
20. Singh
21. Paddy
22. Valentine
23. Drago

Maybe some europeans? Chamat, Van Den Berg, Immonen?

I'd be surprised if you got all those above to attend and even if you did I'm really struggling to think of some more who are likely to pay such a large entry fee. Who've I missed?

Haha!

I might actually consider it when I see the prize money breakdown. If I have a slim chance of winning my entry back and my results on the EPT improve I may give it a go. I still think you might struggle to find 32 without attracting oversas interest though. But I agree we need more 8 ball comps in the UK. I'm hoping to see Ted run a few more alongside the 9 ball just to redress the balance a little with all the 9 ball comps.

oh yes, I guess many people will. But maybe not with Single KO.

What having a tourmant for the losers of the first match? The winner of the losers cup will meet the loser of the final on the winner side, for a new spot in the final.

Then all players get at least 2 matches, and the losing finalist on the winners side get another chance too
