Always interested in trivia or useless information, I have discovered that 61 of the IPT players use 43 different makes of cues. It will be interesting to see the full list if and when it comes out.

BEAR - BOBBY HUNTER - PREDATOR each have 4 users
MEUCCI has 3 users
CUETEC - JOSEY - MALI - SCHON - THIERRY CHEVRON each have 2 users and all the rest have only one user.

How many different types of cues are being used in the UK for example?

I use an Andy Gilbert, not sure anyone else here has one?

I'm sure Diamond would know something like this, he's sold a cue to most people in this country (well, almost!)

Hi Peter, I use a Custom made Viking Butt which has my name inlayed into it at the bottom.

I use a 314 Predator shaft.

For break cue that depends on which tour you mean.

BPPPA and Eurotour i use Oliver Stopps Jump Break 14oz!
And for IPT i use Bear Butt with 314 Predator shaft.

I use a very nice 20oz Quest cue with a moori soft tip.
I also use a Cuetec Vortex break/jump stick.
I'm contemplating buying a Dale Perry custom cue as well...

It doesnt make me play any better though....

:-D

Ok, just looked through the top 100 players on the BPPPA and I have compiled this from what I know. Where I don't know what a player uses, I have put unknown. This list also does not include where a player has changed the original shaft for a Predator shaft....I have just compiled a list of types of butt (ooer!):

Bear: 6
McDermott: 1
Meucci: 5
Paul Mottey: 1
Andy Gilbert: 1
Wayne Holmes: 2
Cuetec: 2
James White: 2
Black Boar: 1
Predator: 34
Viking: 3
Pechauer: 1
Kenny Murrell: 1
Jacoby: 1
Jensen: 1
Russ Espiritu: 1
Lucasi: 5
Snooker Cue style: 6
Schon: 2
Joss: 1
Balabushka copy (by Adam): 2
Kenny Murrell: 1
Longoni: 1
Unknown: 19

I do need a life.

Predator seems to have a hold in the UK, many people over here also use Predator,
I was using a Russ Espiritu until a year ago when I was given a Bear by Dynamic. This now has a Python Skin grip and looks pretty good.
Anyone interested in leather or skin grips shouild look at www.cuegrip.com, this guy does some awesome work.

Hmmm, Souinds pretty cood:), I have hit a few shots with a cue stick that was made in the Phillippines and it belongs to one of the Phillipino's in Club 9 and it is such a comfortable cue stick to hit a ball with :), The Python skin grip is really soft and comfortable and I thought it would be wierd to have a python skin grip,m but I was very pleasanntly suprised :)

anyways, i6t sounds like this website is worth taking a loook at as I wouldn't mind riping that darn linen grip from my break cue as with the cue power and speed I have, I keep getting burns on the inside of my index finger and thumb and it's a irratating as the devils playground.

Anyways, I'm happy with the new Meucci that is on it's way to me now and I'm looking forward to running 100 balls or so at straight pool with it :)

Take care everyone :)

Willie

Back in the day when i was playing i used a meucci. But to this day i still say the best cue i ever had the pleasure of trying was the Bear cue that Lee Tucker use to have. Completely different feel to anything else i have ever seen or tried
