just to put something down...

the score now is 2-1 for Michele Monaco...
i've seen this guy play, and normally Imran should be able to beat him easily, but it's alternate break and tapped balls...
so we'll see....
MM breaks, 2 balls gone, easy shot on the 2, draw back to the other side of the table for the 3, have to get back to the other side for the 4. the 4 is on the middle diamond on the short rail... (dutch expression, i don't know the english one), tries to put it safe...
IM: it's pottable, but has to get it back for the 5, does it, 5 left upper corner, hit it a bit hard, so the 7 can go to the middle or left upper corner... IM thinking.... the left upper corner... straight on the 8, great shot, easy 9....
2-2

frame 5

IM break: 2 ball on the break
easy shot on the 2, has to stretch for the 3, 4 gone, 5 easy too.... he's going to quick for me to type... on the 8 now... easy... 9 in... 2-3

frame 6:

MM: break, dry one...
IM: pots the 1, but bad position on the 2, safety
MM: touches it and gives a safety back
IM: gives a ball in hand away
MM: pots the 2, 3 to the middle... owh he misses
IM: back on the table, pots the 3, has to cut the 4 but 5 isn't that easy.... pots it has to get back behind the 9 for a long pot on the 5, he pots that one too, a bit striaght on the 6, draw back to the other side for the 6, cut shot back to the other side for the 8, touches the 9, difficult shot on the 8, makes it and now only the 9 left... long pot, and makes it! 2-4 now...

frame 7:

IM: break, 1 ball on the break
position on the 2 and a chance to cannon onto the 9 and 3... problem, he's got to cut the 3 but the 4 is also on this side... makes it, pots the 4, 5, 7 easy 8, and the 5-2 is a fact...

frame 8

MM to break, 2 balls gone
position on the 1, but the 5 is in front of the pocket..... he still tries, but misses... but also leaves a safety for Imran
IM: rail and then a safety...
MM: tries a jump, gets it, leaving nothing easy for Imran
IM: cross bank, 2 is easy but how to get the position for the 3... he pots the 2, cannons onto the 3/9 but no possible pot... leaves a safety...
MM: another jump i think....he makes the jump but no pot...
IM: easy pot, position on the 5, roll towards the 6, draw back to the 7, and now the 9... and that one is also in....
2-6

frame 9

IM: break, 2 balls gone
one into the middle, 2 right upper pocket, 3 easy, 4 cut into the left upper... 5 into the right upper one, 7 into the middle and straight on the 9 for the left upper pocket...
2-7

(2 more to go...)

frame 10

MM to break: dry one again...
IM: has to stretch.. or the rest...stretches and misses... leaving a pottable one...
MM: see if he takes this chance... he's pots the 1, the 2, 3 is almost already in the pocket, but now he's got a difficult cut on the 4, makes it, misses the 5....
IM: long pot on the 5, but the 6 is where the cueball is... and he misses too
MM: sees that the 5 ended op near the 6... looking... they're both quick... pots the 5 but scratches into the middle pocket
IM BIH, should be easy... or not? Im takes another look... had to draw but doesn't really do that... cut shot on the 7 makes it and gets the 8 of the rail... easy 8 and 9 now... and the score is 2-8
one more to go....

IM: to break, dry one...
MM: he can see the 1, but can't really do anything with it... he tries a safety but leaves it to the middle
IM: pots the 1, 2, 3, 4, draw back for the 5, 6 on the rail... 7 left upper pocket.. 8 and 9 should be easy...
and then...
he's done!!!

(BTW Tony was about 2 seconds faster to finish....)

QF Tschudi, Marco    8 vs 1    Facquet, Vincent
QF Feijen, Niels    5 vs 6    Drago, Tony
QF Ortmann, Oliver    2 vs 2    Souquet, Ralf
QF Larsson, David    5 vs 5    Majid, Imran

watching the ortmann souquet match on the live feed now, bit slow & scrappy so far though!
