can anyone shed some light on this for me! i couldn't get to see any ipt footage and am a bit confused about one of the rules; i've be told 3 different scenarios for a legal shot; 1. if i hit my ball first i can pot an opponents ball (not mine also) and i carry on my visit 2 .if i hit my ball first i can pot an opponents ball (not mine also) and thats the end of my visit with no foul 3. if i hit my ball first i can pot an opponents ball as long as i pot mine as well and i carry on my visit can anyone tell me the answer??? cheers -----------------

I know that you can pot your ball and also then an opponents on the same shot and it is still your turn at the table.

Point 1 is incorrect. Point 2 + 3 are correct. -----------------

You can hit your own ball first and then pot your opponent’s ball, this is not a foul, if you intend to pot your own ball at the same time it must be called otherwise your pot would not count and it would be loss of turn.
If the table is open you can use a stripe to pot a solid providing that you have called the solid otherwise the table still remains open.
