Can everyone help me compile a list of "local tournaments" and "leagues" for a definitive list to be placed on the new Pro9 Calendar please?
Also, Southey147 was asking if anybody knew of any comps in the Hertfordshire area?
Thanks in advance!

That's absolutely brilliant Brian, and a novel idea with that bar voucher - how does that work?

It was our host manager's idea. He figured that Monday nights were effectively his quietest night, so in a way this bar voucher guarantees takings over the bar and he can give us 4 tables for free play. Everyone pays me the £7.50, then Gary hands over the correct amount of bar tokens and I hand over the cash...easy! You would be surprised the amount of people who would go along and nurse a glass of water! Give us Scots a bad name So this voucher systems means that Rileys get £75 per 30 players in bar business

The way we divide the money up is simple. Of the £5 left per person, we take 50p per head to add to our ANBA funds (helps pay for pool equipment, trophies etc), £50 is paid out on the night split between winner/runner up and semis. The rest of the cash (based on 30 players) means that the winner of the league would collect 50% of the prize fund (£425).
It does involve a bit of commitment from the players as they do not receive points for not turning up, however we do allow it to be based on the top 8 scores over the 10 weeks to cater for offshore workers and people who take holidays halfway through a season.

Venue: Rileys, Solihull When: Every Wednesday 8pm Entry: £3 Number of runners: Between 10 and 16 Prize: All entries paid out to winner Although the comp doesn't get as many runners as some of the other clubs, the regulars to this are a great bunch and the level of play is high. We also run a league side by side with this where we all pay £2 a week and when everybody has played each other the prize money is paid out to the top 4 (those not in the top 4 play-off for a small share of the pool) Hope some of you can come up one of the weeks, especially those who used to attand Hustlers before it closed! Cheers Andy Warden
