I only have the 1/4's from Victoria as I have yet to see or hear from Andy since his trip back!!!
19 player field.
3 groups of 5, 1 group of 4. Top 2 progressed.
Quarter Finals
Martin Correia 7 v 5 Ali Ramzi Tony Burton 7 v 4 Caroline Walch Gareth Esprit 5 v 7 Bartek Czapla Andy Nicholson 2 v 7 Damien Overton
Semi-Finals
Martin Correia 7 v 1 Tony Burton Bartek Czapla 3 v 7 Damien Overton
The Final
Martin Correia 7 v 6 Damien Overton
This was one of the best finals I have ever seen.
Damien was leading 6-3 and ran the rack on the hill but over ran position on the 8 ball leaving himself hooked. He called a corner pocket and tried a 3 rail kick, he narrowly missed his intended pocket and left the table open for Martin.
Martin then cleared his balls and won the next two racks taking it to hill-hill with Martin to break.
He came up dry and let Damien in. Overton again ran all object balls and did not get the intended position on the 8 ball. The only shot he had was a full table audacious carom off the 15 ball, it just missed and went two rails into the centre pocket giving Martin the rack and the match.
Next Satellite event in is Solihull on 23rd July. 9:30am registration.
Hopefully see some of you there!!!

25 runners in Manchester:
Q/Fs:
James Kay 7 - 6 Andy Worthington Rob Jude 4 - 7 Brad Parker Luke Pepperell 3 - 7 Jonathan Mathers Paul Williams 7 - 5 Geoff Edge
Semi Finals:
James Kay 7 - 6 Brad Parker Paul Williams 7 - 5 Rob Jude
Final:
James Kay 7 - 4 Paul Williams (I think - i didn't get to watch the final due to illness)
James played solid all day long, opening up his semi final with Brad Parker by running the first 3 racks, before a careless miss let Brad back in. At 6-6 Parker had 2 stripes and the 8 left, but somehow contrived to go in off on his last stripe as well as missing it, so handing the match on a plate to James.
Paul Williams, in his first ever 8-ball tourney, played excellent pool all day as well. He topped his group by beating James Kay in the final group game, then despatched ever-consistent Geoff Edge (QF) and Rob Jude (SF) by 7-5 scorelines.
The final was closer than the score suggests with both players having chances, but it was James who took down racks when it mattered most to record a 7-5 win and win himself the $750 spot for the UK Qualifier.
Remember anyone who played either Manchester or Victoria will get entry for only £20 in Solihull next week! See you there...

One spot guaranteed regardless of numbers and should you win you have the option to choose your qualifier in August.
