The Norwegian Team Championship has been organized this weekend, with the quarterfinals, semifinals and final on Monday. The final is played now, and below I will update the score In this championship there are 3 players on each team, and in the first rounds all players on a team meet every player on the other team, playing 8-ball race to 3, 9-ball race to 4 and 14-1 race to 50. (In the middlerounds still 50 in 14-1, 4 in 8-ball and 6 in 9-ball. In the single KO one player will play 9-ball race to 11, one will play 8-ball race to 8 and the third will play 14-1 race to 125) This means that in each teammatch there are 9 individual matches in the start, and 3 individual matches in the KO stages. This year 70 teams signed up for the tournament which was played at both ElbowRoom (21 tables) and Biljardhuset (21 tables), with the finals at ElbowRoom. Trondheim BK 1 has won the Team Championship three years in a row, with players as Vegar Kristiansen, Ronny Oldervik and Roger Lysholm. Christiania 1, which is located at ElbowRoom, has the record in Norway with 4 years in a row and 7 win in total, and it was not a surprise that it was this teams facing eachother in the finals. Players on Christiania: Christian Johannessen, Matey Ullah and Joakim Haugen. In total Trondheim BK started with 7 teams, Oslo with 9 teams and Christiania with 11. The other clubs in Norway started all with less teams than 5. Every year there is at least one team that surprises everybody, and this year it was the Christiania Dream Team with Line Kjørsvik and to junior players (16 y). They got the quarterfinals after beating several high ranked teams, but lost to Christiania 1. Matey Ullah won 11 - 7 over Sebastian Mæhlum. Then both Line Kjørsvik and Per Henrik Pedersen had to win their matches to proceed. Per Henrik Pedersen had at least 80 spectators watching while he was about to make the score 7 - 7!!! Unfortunately Line Kjørsvik lost 125-113 (8 innings) to Joakim Haugen in the same second, and then Christiania 1 got in the semifinal. In the semifinal they played Trondheim 2, with players as Ronny Kraft, Jørn Kjølaas and Martin Havnvik. Joakim Haugen won the 14-1 match, and Jørn Kjølaas won 11 - 10 in the 9-ball match facing Christian Johannessen. Then Matey Ullah had to win his 7 - 7 match against Ronny Kraft. With the 8-ball left, he scratched but didn`t make the 8-ball. Ball in hand to Ronny, but he failed to clear the table and Matey got back and won, and the 100 spectators was very excited that the home team made it!!! In the final Christian Johannessen is facing Roger Lysholm on the tv-table playing 9-ball. Unfortunately the livestream is not running, but some of the matches is beeing taped and will be available on the web soon. Now Roger Lysholm has the lead 8 - 2. In the 14-1 match Vegar Kristiansen is leading 37 - 36, and Matey Ullah is leading 5 - 3 in the 8-ball match against Ronny Oldervik. This means that Trondheim is in the lead. 14-1 Joakim Haugen, Christiania - Vegar Kristiansen, Trondheim. 36 - 75 9-ball Christian Johannessen, Christiania - Roger Lysholm, Trondheim. 2 - 9 Christian doesn`t play very well at the moment, but he made 7 runout in a row in 9-ball just months ago so he is capable of winning this. Roger Lysholm played the IPT-qualifier in Weert, but failed to win 5 000 $ for running 6 racks since he scratched on the 6th break... 8-ball Matey Ullah, Christiania - Ronny Oldervik, Trondheim 5 - 4 [ This message was edited by: RugRat on 2006-06-05 17:05 ]

When Vegar won the 14-1 Championship last year he made an total average of 37,5 after been playing 8 matches.
Joakim Haugen won the 14-1 Championship this year, only two weeks ago

7 - 7 in the 8-ball match, Vegar has only a few balls left.
Looks like it will be Trondheims 4th year in a row

So will hopefully the free videos from the 9-ball matches on the tv-table. (Quarterfinal between Matey Ullah - Sebastian Mæhlum, Semifinal between Roger Lysholm - Kent Halldin and final between Roger Lysholm and Christian Johannessen.)
