Congratulations to Jonathon Mathers on winning the APN National Championship event in Solihull yesterday (14-10-07) and lets hope he can go on now to win other events (unless he plays against me). I thought the event was ran superbly and I'd like to personally thank the organisers for putting it on when there was no obligation for them to do so. ----------------- Multiple winner of the Solihull Wednesday knockout competition.

Yeah top entertainment this weekend. A big shout to Chris Billings for getting it all together. I had some good matches despite eventually losing on 2 9-8's Also great to see the legend himself - Big Dave. Who was doing his impression of del boy selling pro-shop goods out of the back of his car. A couple of us went to a chinese buffet eat all you like.. When they saw Big Dave licking his lips they thought they were about to go bankrupt!! Finally after meeting Bruno in person, and discovering he's built like a brick spit house, I have decided to stop insulting the Scottish - although they deserve it!! Great news to hear Jonathan won this. I can think of few players more deserving.
Many congrats Jonathan.

Cheers Craig & Lee - appreciated.
Another big up to Chris for all his efforts on Sunday. It's just a pity Dave didn't get a photo of his face the moment his laptop decided to freeze mid tourny!

Well plaid Mr Mathers - Big Dave summed it up perfectly in his report. You held your nerve and emotions together when i didnt. Had a few things on my mind in the final that really shouldnt have been - didnt relax or focus like i had in the Quarters and Semis.
As much as i am disappointed to have lost, i think i can honestly say that jonathan was a deserved winner throughout the day playing solid pool against some tuff handicaps all day.
congratulations to him, and also Chris, the organisers, the club and of course BIG D fo sticking this one out, i did chuckle in the final as i watched BIG D slumped on his stool rocking as he nodded off a few times lol -
John - 1st of many mate.

John - 1st of many mate. Cheers Oz. You weren't yourself in the final mate, which was a relief for me. Big D nodding off - I'm claiming it was the late hour and not my fault for a change!
