Just a post to pick our GBR Eurotourers brains about the above Euro-stop.............flights, hotels etc etc

is it one of the better tournaments?

Its the most awkward event as far as travelling goes plus the hotels are over 30 mins away from the venue via the shuttle service.

Hopefully the pockets are going to be shimmed this year - last year they were bigger than my house!

Bored wives can sit around aimlessly at the venue/get drunk in the bar/be left in the hotel/be left to run up a massive credit card bill in the Swiss shops.

Be noticably less brits than usual going.

Flights are either to Friedrichshafen followed by ferry + train or to Zurich followed by the train.

I'd be interested to know who else is going cos my usual room-mate has to work.

If you want easy travelling, save your money for the December Eurotour and 8 Ball Tournament in Malaga.
Easyjet have return flights from Liverpool at £55,
from London £45 and from Bristol £49.
Official 5* hotel is 85 euros + 7% tax per double with breakfast.
Great shopping for the ladies and good nightlife if you know where to go!!!

Mick, the dates of the December Eurotour are 6th - 8th but you need to arrive on the 5th.
The 8 ball tournament starts on the 8th and finishes on the 10th so if you are playing you will need a return flight late evening on the 10th or in the morning of the 11th.
THe official hotel which is also the venue is 91 euros per double per night including massive breakfast and taxes.

If you came on the 5th and left on the 10th your hotel will cost 455 euros (£316) your flight will cost around £50-£60.
You will have a good time and you could win up to 9000 euros (£6250)
Entry fees are 140 euros Eurotour and 90 euros 8 Ball Tourney.
If you want to get a hotel cheaper, talk to Dazzler, he normally stays somewhere else.

Does anyone know what format the Swiss event will be? is it old style or new style with top 32 seeded into last 64 stages on Saturday?

The three events selected for the new style with the final being played on the Sunday were, Czech, Dutch and Spanish, if my memory serves me correctly.
The only one where the experiment was tried was the Czech event, correct me if I am wrong.
Therefore the Swiss event will be as last year.
The Spanish event will also be a normal one with the final on Saturday.

I seem to remember that both Czech and Austria were new format. And I was under the impression that there would be one more, I heard a rumor that Switzerland might be changed to new format.
