is anyone interested in running a straight pool event in the uk? its a great game and i really enjoy it btu there is no straight pool events anywhere in this country?

u could run a event along side the main event on 1-5 tables with every1 putting £5-£10 in the pot with the highest score takes the cash

never played it on a 9ball table as only been playing 2 weeks, done 100+ a few times on a english pool table

Wud be an interesting tourney, Maybe a format like £15-40 entry, Highest combined score of 3 or 5 attempts and then a highest individual run prize

so does anyone no of of someone to run an event like this,maybe riggers (barnsley),ozzy(ipswich),indy(mickey flynns).etc

I'm not sure that there are enough regular Straight Pool players in the UK to really be able to get super large events off the ground, but it would be very possible for leagues and local club events to put new life into their league nights by introducing different games to their regular schedule. Some leagues switch between 8 ball and 9 ball on alternate weeks. Or you could add a NEW pool league night making it alternate between straight pool and bank pool, or 10 ball, or any one of a hundred fun games. -----------------  Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor
