The date has been set, the format has been decided.

The Midlands 10 Ball Championship 2007 will be held at Coventry Hertford Place Rileys on the weekend of Saturday 4th/Sunday 5th August.

Prizes paid out to last 8.

1st: £500
2nd: £250
3rd: £125

(based on 64 entries)

Format:

Saturday 4th August
(based on 64 runners)
Group stages to last 32.
Each match best of 10 racks.
Alternate breaks, lag for first break.

Sunday 5th August
Last 32 Single Elimination Knockout.
All matches race to 9, winner breaks
Except final, race to 11, winner breaks

Every match, lag for first break
All tables will be tapped.

Trophies for first 3, plus shield engraved with winners name to be engraved to be displayed in club showing history of the midlands champion for next ? years.

Entry fee only £20 in advance (Before 8pm Thursday 2nd August), or £25 thereafter including on the day.

Extras:

Tables available for free practice for registered players on the Friday night, if there are enough players there on the friday night some sort of flyer will be arranged.

Open flyer on the sunday open to any player not through to the last 16 of the main event (entry fee will apply, will commence after the round of the last 32 on sunday 5th).

Poker tournament on saturday evening after the group stages have finished (entry fee will again apply).

If enough players are interested i will try to broker a deal with one of the nearby hotels/B&B's for the saturday night, and even the friday night if possible for cheap room rates. Please ask for more details.

Payment accepted via paypal, personal cheque, postal order, cash.

Who will be crowned Midlands 10 ball champion 2007?

i would reccomend players to make an effort to attend this event as iv been to a couple of jamies events and he runs them very well. he formats the event cleverly to give players maximum table time, minimum waiting around, minimum cost and maximum reward including several trophies and a good wad of dosh to the business end of the comp. hope we get a good turn out.

Yes, just rack the balls randomly in a shorter triangle shape with the one ball on the spot and the ten ball in the middle and run them out in order. Players like it because it's a little harder and the break isn't always guaranteed to make a ball every time on tapped tables. If you already play 9-ball then you know all the rules for 10-ball too!
