A few players have phoned up to register for this event and thought it was being played at the Les Dodd Snooker Centre which it isnt. So to avoid any confusion, this event is being played at:

Players who have already registered need to be at the club by 10.30am, players who havent already pre-registered need to be at the club for 10.15am. the draw will be made at about 10.45am with play starting at 11am. The dress code is smart casual

Yes, I'll be there. Can you revised the flyer or at least the first post in this thread with correct details for the event? Is it Sat or Sun? Sorry but I can't be bothered trawling through 7 pages of this thread to find out.

The George Scott Snooker Club is one of the best snooker clubs in the country and have hosted many professional events. Last month they replaced their snooker match room with 9 brand new Sam Leisure pool tables with powder blue cloth. It really is a great club and the facilities are second to none and it should be a great tournament. With the EPT currently suspended you dont have to miss out in July when EPT Solihull would have taken place. There will also be bonus features to the event including all matches played on the match table being filmed and DVDs of matches will be available. Semi Final: (£100) Daryl Peach 10-2 Martin Chapman Karl Boyes 10-8 Stuart Colclough Final: (£275 each) Daryl and Boyzi agreed to split the prize money. There were only 15 runners for this comp but it was a quality field and the comp was made double elimination (thanks to shir for helping with the draw format). I think all players agreed that this was a fantastic venue with the only problem being the speed of the tables which didnt really suit 8 ball. The next events will be 10 ball and for this i think it would be the perfect venue. Thanks to all those players who supported the event. [ This message was edited by: cusack_147 on 2007-07-15 11:43 ]

It seemed like quite a while since I'd hit a ball so I was looking forward to this one. Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent how badly I play when I haven't hit a ball in a while I was still good to get back into competition though, and I suppose it was about time Boyzi turned round his bad run against me by beating me 6-4 I agree with Mark, it's a really nice club but the tables weren't great. As well as the cloths being too fast (even for 9 ball IMO) the slates were not level on many of them and you could hear the rumbling sound as the ball travels down the table and over the bumps. If the room and the tables are new maybe this is understandble 'cos the floor can take time to settle. All this of course is really easily solved and it could be a really good venue for some future events like this. The staff were nice and friendly too. Nice event Mark, well done. Wanna thank Mark (cusack147) for organising this event. It was a shame about the lack of runners but to be honest i think that US 8ball has took a back seat since the IPT was put on hold. even with 15 runners the quality was still there. I drew Boyzi first match, there wasnt 1 mistake in the match and i eventually scraped hope 8-6. Next for me was Andy Worthington who probably played better than me here but again i came home 8-6. Matt Hyden was next, he had a bit of an off day to be fair, this was followed by pretty much the same from Martin Chapman, too many mistakes and i found myself in the final. Boyzi battled through on the losers side, and eventually beat Stu Colclough 10-8 in a great match. By the time it came for the final it was about 9pm so we agreed to split the prize. I really look forward to the 10ball event you will be holding here. I thought the tables were great, too fast for 8ball maybe but would be perfect for 10ball or 9ball. -----------------

Cheers Daryl and Lee for your comments, im looking forward to the 10 ball event now. i agree probably a bit too fast for 8 ball but perfect for 9/10 ball. Should get a lot more runners for the 10 ball event.
