Am in Blackpool tomorrow meeting up with Boyzi to discuss format and time schedule etc, then as soon as we have EPT dates then check the free dates we will know then for sure the date, but rest assure we are looking to play it when a date is suitable to at least 90% + players, we are currently looking at a 2 or 3 day event more than likely 2 days, I will be looking at hotels in or around the venue, which at present is Manchester, which is close to the Airport for overseas players, It is looking likely that it will be best of 5 sets race to 7 in each not decided on single elimination or double yet but will be decided tomorrow, more news will follow on Thursday. The feedback we have had has been huge including major overseas players.

Sounds great Boyzi! You can count me in too... though of course it will depend on dates, I'm still heavily committed to events in Europe, but I wouldn't miss a chance to take part in a tournament like this.

The EPBF can tell players not to join the tournament. If they still do they can get banned from Eurotour.

Doubt they will, just curious

I agree, but the good thing of getting it sanctioned is that EPBF can send out invitations for it to all countries and players...

...and more importantly if it's EPBF sanctioned doesn't that mean your dates have the same level of profile and 'protection' against clashing as a Euro Tour event for example?

You would not be able to play IPT Rules though, only World Standardised.

On balance my advice would be to get it sanctioned, especially with the calendars being so full in each country these days.

Very true!

But it costs like 200 € to get it sanctioned though, so there is + and - about it.
